Indian Summer
Poco Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

There's a full moon in the sky
It's got a hold on me, I'm hypnotized
Like your love it's getting stronger
Please keep my heart a little longer

Indian summer is on it's way
It's cool at night and hot all day
Ain't no black clouds filled with rain
Santa and wind blew them all to Maine

Baby takes my hand
She says she understands
About the way I feel
She knows this love is real

I'm a wide open spaced cowboy
I got lazy ways, I got some hidden joy
Motorcycle and tons of R.P.M
Ain't gonna wait around till it's here again

Baby takes my hand
She says she understands
About the way I feel
She knows my love is real

And Indian summer is on it's way
It's cool at night and hot all day
There ain't no black clouds filled with rain
Santa and wind blew them all to Maine
Blew them all to Maine

[Incomprehensible]

Found this gem of a song by complete accident. Over heard a classmate of mine in college, 2013, talking about how his girlfriends dad gave him a box of various records and he mentioned poco. Listened to this song out of curiosity more than anything and have loved it ever since.

Love this song. Don't know why most people don't remember it. This time of year, I always think about it. Makes me sad and feel good at the same time, if that makes any sense. Music like this isn't written any longer. :-(

"Music like this isn't written any longer."

Not true. It's just not widely marketed and distributed... like craft beer. You gotta look harder to find it, but it's out there.
