Alter
Poema Arcanus Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Vistas, cauces, paisaje fugitivo
Mirada que intenta y falla en permanecer
Sobre lugares de aсoranza perenne
Sobre rincones de polvo y olvido

El pacto no quiere acabar
Solo has venido... solo te irбs
El pacto no quiere acabar
Arrastro valijas, pierdo el camino, olvido el lugar

Una parte de una parte de mн
Quiere dormir tres eternidades
Una parte de una parte de esta vida
Ocurre en otro lugar

El pacto no quiere acabar
Solo has venido... solo te irбs

El pacto no quiere acabar
Arrastro valijas, pierdo el camino, olvido el lugar

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Poema Arcanus's song Alter are about reminiscing and trying to hold onto fleeting memories and places. The opening lines describe a landscape that is transitory, with rivers and vistas that slip through one's grasp. The singer of the song is trying to hold onto these places of nostalgia and memory, but the attempts are ultimately futile. The lyrics suggest that the memories are like pieces of a former self that the singer is trying to preserve.

The chorus of the song repeats the phrase "El pacto no quiere acabar" (The pact does not want to end) suggesting a deal or promise that was made but cannot be broken. The singer feels stuck, unable to move on from the past and leave these memories behind. The lines "Arrastro valijas, pierdo el camino, olvido el lugar" (I drag my suitcases, lose my way, forget the place) depict the struggle to move forward and the fear of losing these memories and emotions.

Overall, the lyrics of Alter by Poema Arcanus explore themes of transience, nostalgia, and the struggle to move on from the past. The song speaks to the human experience of holding onto memories and longing for places and people that have passed.
