Unlike many other artists Polly’s style can’t be boxed in, he has music that can appeal to a broad audience, from the typical hip hop head to people who don’t even consider themselves fans of rap. His debut mixtape Pollygamy: The Story of Kalypso was released in February 2010 and within a week obtained over 1,000 downloads.

Thanks for posting both sides of this soul single by Johnny Young on the short-lived Sumpter label (b/w "Polly Wally"). I couldn't find any info about the artist or co-writer Ron Deckard, but there was an article in Billboard on August 10, 1968, stating: "NASHVILLE -- Shelby Singleton last week launched two more record labels. Aimed at the country music field is the Plantation Records label [which enjoyed immediate success with Jeannie C. Riley's recording of 'Harper Valley P.T.A.']; Sumpter Records will feature R&B product. . . . 'Polly Wally,' by Johnny Young, and 'Run Sally Run' by John Standberry Jr. are the first product on Sumpter Records." This song was also recorded by Tony Borders, a Southern soul singer, in September of 1968, and according to discogs.com, co-writer Jackie Clark is an soul guitarist, bassist, songwriter, and producer who has worked extensively with Ike & Tina Turner in the early '70s, and later worked with Iggy Pop and recorded and toured with The Dirt Band from May 1976 to Summer 1977.
