KILLER
Pollyanna Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Wipe all the tears from their eyes
Said my mother
Wipe all the tears from their eyes
Set to smother

Kill all the shits in this town
Keep it silent
Kill all the shits without a sound
Keep it silent

Wipe all the sleep from their eyes
Said my mother
Wipe all the sleep from their eyes
Set to smother

Killer, Let him in
Now for my son
Cuff him in chains
Killer, Let him in

Kill all the pricks in this town
Keep it silent
Kill all the pricks without a sound
Keep it silent

Killer, Let him in
Now for my son
Cuff him in chains
Killer, Let him in

Killer, Let him in
Now for my son

Cuff him in chains
Killer, Let him in

Overall Meaning

The song "Killer" by Pollyanna is a haunting melody that tells a story of a mother's intense love for her son, even when he has committed heinous crimes. The lyrics speak to the idea of protecting those we love, even when their actions are unforgivable in the eyes of others.

The first verse urges the mother to wipe all the tears from the eyes of individuals affected by her son's actions. The repetition of this line shows how the mother is trying to make amends for what her son has done. The line "Set to smother" implies that the mother is willing to go to great lengths to protect her child from facing the consequences of his actions.

The chorus talks about the mother's resolve to take action and protect her son. She tells the killer to let him in and cuff him in chains, showing a sense of power and command over the situation.

The second verse is even more intense, as the mother urges that everyone who knows about her son's crimes should be silenced. The line "Kill all the shits in this town" is incredibly dark and disturbing, demonstrating the mother's willingness to go to extreme measures to protect her son.

Overall, the lyrics of "Killer" paint a picture of a mother's love for her child, even when that child has committed terrible acts. It shows how far a parent might go in protecting their offspring, even if it means harming or killing others.

When we needed to be angry, green day was there.
And now when we need something good I'm the world. Green day is here.
That's why this band is immortal.

So, I went to the hella mega tour in dallas. The show was amazing and during fallout boy I got in the insane merch line. I got a t shirt for myself, a koozie for my dad, and a pennant for my room. When I left, I noticed that they gave me a 2nd pennant by mistake. At first I was gonna just keep it in a closet or something but then when listening to this song during the chorus when he says "share your bread with friends you don't know" I thought maybe I could give it to someone. So when I got back to our hotel there was another kid who complemented my green day shirt, I saw a great opportunity to do something nice I explained that the merch booth gave me an extra and asked if he wanted it. He got really excited and accepted my offer. His mom said he loved green day but the merch lines were too long. Doing nice things feels good.
