1) Pond is an Australian psychedelic rock band from Perth, Western Australia, formed in 2008. Initially featuring a revolving line-up, since 2016 the band has comprised
Jay Watson (also of Tame Impala), Nick Allbrook (ex-Tame Impala), Shiny Joe Ryan, Jamie Terry, and James Ireland.
The original idea of Pond was to be able to get anyone they wanted to play whatever they wanted in a collaborative musical project. Their first album was released soon after in January 2009, titled Psychedelic Mango, which contained many psychedelic rock and pop elements. Their second album, Corridors of Blissterday, was completed live with an eight piece band in five days, and released in June 2009. This led to the creation of their 2010 album, Frond, released in May 2010, featuring a heavier pop influence than previously heard from them.
After the breakthrough success of Innerspeaker, the debut album by Tame Impala, a band which shares three members with Pond, the album Beard, Wives, Denim was recorded in 2010 and later released to critical acclaim in March 2012.

Allergies
Pond Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Forgetting all of our allergies
To the world
Space was a lie
But the sun still shines
Down on me
That the waves will crash
Easily
Everyday we wake outside the sea
Forgetting all of our allergies
And we don't have to sit around for weed
This world
Space was a lie
And the sun still shines
Down on me
But you don't have to tell me
That the waves will crash
Easily
The lyrics to Pond's song Allergies may seem abstract, but they discuss the idea of leaving behind daily worries and limiting beliefs in order to fully embrace the natural world. The line "Everyday we wake outside the sea, forgetting all of our allergies" suggests that the sea and nature can serve as a source of healing and rejuvenation, allowing us to let go of our troubles and appreciate the world around us.
The lines "Space was a lie, but the sun still shines down on me" may refer to a general sense of disillusionment or disconnection from the larger universe, but the sun still serves as a reminder of warmth and life. The repeated refrain "But you don't have to tell me that the waves will crash easily" speaks to a sense of acceptance and surrender to the forces of nature, suggesting that it's futile to resist or struggle against them.
Overall, the song seems to promote a sense of freedom and exploration in the natural world, encouraging listeners to let go of their worries and embrace the beauty and power of the universe.
