1) Pond is an Australian psychedelic rock band from Perth, Western Australia, formed in 2008. Initially featuring a revolving line-up, since 2016 the band has comprised
Jay Watson (also of Tame Impala), Nick Allbrook (ex-Tame Impala), Shiny Joe Ryan, Jamie Terry, and James Ireland.
The original idea of Pond was to be able to get anyone they wanted to play whatever they wanted in a collaborative musical project. Their first album was released soon after in January 2009, titled Psychedelic Mango, which contained many psychedelic rock and pop elements. Their second album, Corridors of Blissterday, was completed live with an eight piece band in five days, and released in June 2009. This led to the creation of their 2010 album, Frond, released in May 2010, featuring a heavier pop influence than previously heard from them.
After the breakthrough success of Innerspeaker, the debut album by Tame Impala, a band which shares three members with Pond, the album Beard, Wives, Denim was recorded in 2010 and later released to critical acclaim in March 2012.

Dig Brother
Pond Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
It doesn't matter how you do your hair
All that matters is that you're looking strong
And I
Dig, brother, I dig
Dig, brother, I dig
It don't matter if you rock and roll
It doesn't matter anyway
It doesn't matter what you did today
And it's
Cool, brother, it's cool
Cool, brother, it's cool
It's cool, brother, it's cool
Cool, brother, it's cool
The sun's shining on the place to the west
And you're living close to the edge
Chasing around like you have a gun
And I
Know, brother, I know
Know, brother, I know
Dig (?)
The song "Dig Brother" by Pond is a straightforward tune with simple lyrics. The song is all about style and the importance of looking good. The lyrics convey a message that it doesn't matter what clothes you wear or how you do your hair, as long as you're looking strong. The catchy chorus "Dig, Brother, I dig" is repeated several times, emphasizing the importance of having a powerful and confident appearance.
In the second verse, the song takes a different direction, as the focus shifts to the idea of being cool. The lyrics suggest that it doesn't matter what you do or what happened during the day, as long as you remain cool. This is evident in the line "It doesn't matter anyway, it doesn't matter what you did today". The chorus here repeats the phrase "Cool, brother, it's cool", almost as if offering reassurance to listeners to not worry about the small things in life.
The final verse talks about living dangerously and chasing after danger with a gun. Here, the phrase "living close to the edge" suggests that the singer is taking risks and living life to the fullest. The chorus takes a different turn to a third idea here, with the words "Know, Brother, I know". This suggests that the singer is aware of the risks involved but still chooses to go ahead with their actions.
Overall, "Dig Brother" is a simple yet catchy song that emphasizes the importance of style, being cool, and taking risks. It's a feel-good tune that almost acts as a confidence boost for listeners, urging them to be more confident and unafraid of the unknown.

Man I remember going through A bad break up in 2017 and just driving aimlessly with this song and some others on my playlist. Rough days that this track helped get me through. Bittersweet listening to it now.
