PB second single Papered Up f/Gorilla Zoe has already become an underground street anthem. He has been in the CSP Music Group Studios with Chris Starr, Sparkz the Trackman and Kalyko.
PB was also the creator of two hit MTV Shows Sorority Life and Fraternity Life. He released his first single in 2005 Don’t Shake It featuring Dabrat after signing a label deal with Bungalo Universal Music Distribution. He later released his debut album “Who Woulda Thought” in 2006 with an indie label which featured Dabrat, Buccweet, Shar Jackson. His single Yall Know was featured on the Best of the South compilation. He began recording his album in the Bronx with producers Charlemagne (Talib Kweli, Shyne) and Arden (Alicia Keys) and went back to LA to work with Dutch (Ice Cube, Sisqo), and his friend Marc 7 from Jurassic 5.
After loosing everything Pony Boi starred-directed-produced a feature mockumentary ‘Becoming Pony Boi’ a parody on his experiences in the music business. ‘Becoming Pony Boi’ combined real footage from during the making of his album and scripted scenes. PB played fictional character Jackie Stein. The movie has won ‘Best Soundtrack’ for Pony Boi’s performances and ‘Best Comedy Feature’ for his acting and filmmaking.
