Post War Years consist of Si Critten, Henry Riggs, Tom O'Hare and Fred McLaren. They are all very nice chaps and in some cases close personal friends. They all enjoy a variety of musical styles and it shows, because they have a diverse range of songs evincing Prince to Battles as influences, unified thematically by all being jaw-droppingly great.
Three-quarters of them currently reside in London where they are slowly and systematically going about destroying the music industry. They have recently supported Lethal Bizzle, MGMT, and Does It Offend You, Yeah? among others.
They played what many fans would describe as their finest gig at wonderful Leamington-based club night La Supercool Discotheque, where huge sub bass made the floor shake and a legion of fans chanted their choruses back at them.
Si, Henry and Tom were previously in an indie band called llease.

The sunlight tempered fields
A bright explode
We roll around in daylight
Distorted unconscious
We stroll around and harvest
Outside let go
My hand in yours
A single set of pods
Growl Defuse is fraud
Discretion out for sure
Discarded disco
Reprised and then ignored
And priced new clothes
This rolling shame of sunlight
The crowd
A shot
Illusion isn't forced
Growl A bright explode
We roll around in daylight
Distorted unconscious
We stroll around and harvest
Outside let go
We all live down quite feline
My hand in yours
A single set of pods
There is much to do
When we can choose not to
There is much to do
When we must choose not to
We trumpeted on campus fields
The sunlight tempered field
Post War Years's song "Growl" is an interesting piece of art that combines both abstract and concrete elements to create a soundscape that is both meditative and introspective. The song talks about the struggles that we all face in our daily lives, especially with the decision-making process. The opening lines, "We trumpeted on campus fields / The sunlight tempered fields," suggest a state of euphoria and being lost in the moment, which is contrasted with the following line "A bright explode," which emphasizes the intensity and suddenness of our actions. The lines "We roll around in daylight / Distorted unconscious / We stroll around and harvest / Outside let go" all emphasize a sense of abandon, where we give in to our primal instincts and let go of our inhibitions.
As the song progresses, the lyrics become more introspective, with lines like "Growl Defuse is fraud / Discretion out for sure" implying that our attempts to control our primal instincts are misguided at best and fraudulent at worst. The next set of lines, "And priced new clothes / This rolling shame of sunlight / The crowd / A shot / Illusion isn't forced," suggests that we try to keep up appearances by buying new clothes and surrounding ourselves with others, but ultimately these are just distractions from our inner turmoil. The repetition of the chorus throughout the song emphasizes the cyclical nature of our struggles and the need to keep trying.
Overall, "Growl" is a song that encourages listeners to embrace their primal instincts while also acknowledging the need for restraint and self-control. The use of abstract and concrete elements creates a soundscape that is both ethereal and grounded, making it a thought-provoking and meditative piece.

Haha! I heard it at a mall too in the food court! I couldn't really hear it to well but I noticed that they had 2 bass players and it reminded me of the U2 video "Where The Streets Have No Name" on the rooftop so I was intrigued.
