Following this unlikely meeting of six outstanding musicians coming from various horizons, the band has quickly been spotted as a rising star.
As of the year 2000, the Café Musiques La Fonderie offered them a support partnership. Pre-selected for the famous Découvertes du Printemps de Bourges, selected several times for the 'Tour en Region' (support program from the Region Provence-Alpes-Cotes-d'Azur), Poum Tchack has scoured since 2002 the best venues in the region and thus has build its reputation. After its first eponymous album in 2002, the band recorded in 2005 its album 'Delirium Live' at the Delirium Tzigane of Avignon to pass on its philosophy and energy the best it could.
In 2010 Poum Tchack celebrates its 10th anniversary. After 500 lives and 10,000 CDs sold, the band takes another artistic dimension. With Billie, its new show and release, it revisits the world of Billie Holiday. From now on, the gypsy swing virtuosities leave room for an inspired and atypical jazz rock feeling. At the premieres in Aix and Marseille in January 2010 the press was conquered.
The band features Alexandre Morier (guitar), Olivier Dambezat (guitar) and Samuel Bobin (drums) then comes Jean-Philip Steverlynck (violin) and Lionel Elian (singer, accordion) and finally Emmanuel Reymond (double bass).

This is my favorite rendition of Minor Swing! I cannot play it without this chord pattern, it is burned into my memory as the only version that counts.
Only problem... I have to keep finding it on YouTube after 15 years, with so many new versions posted all the time.
Thank you for this. Truly spectacular work.

Awesome clip! Of all the great solos on display in this performance, I think Sylvain Luc's is the most exceptional. His use of chords in the ladder half of the solo is truly incredible! Thank you for posting this marvel of a clip!!

Chapeau bas!

I have to agree with some of the other posts -- I've seen this a thousand times and I'm still not tired of it. These guys are so great. Bireli and Friends/Live a' Vienne is just plain riveting from start to finish, with top notch production values.
