Formed in 19… Read Full Bio ↴Powderfinger were a rock band from Brisbane, Australia.
Formed in 1989, the band managed to keep the same line up since they hit the big time, Bernard Fanning (Vocals, guitars), Darren Middleton (guitars), Ian Haug (guitars), John Collins (Bass) and Jon Coghill (drums). Powderfinger are winners of nearly every major award in Australia – including the ARIA (Australian Record Industry Awards) for Album of the Year, Best Rock Album and Song of the Year.
Their musical style changed significantly over the years from a predominantly Grunge influenced one (Parables for Wooden Ears, Double Allergic) to their own brand of Alternative Rock on the following albums Internationalist and Odyssey Number 5. Several songs on Vulture street were in tribute to classic rock bands like Led Zeppelin and AC/DC and Songs on Dream Days at the Hotel Existence feature a prominent Neil Young influence- to whom they owe their band name from his song of the same name.
The band released seven studio albums and a greatest hits album, Fingerprints - The Best of Powderfinger 1994-2000, in 2004. Their final album, Golden Rule, was released in late 2009. Despite their popularity in Australia, Powderfinger never achieved similar success overseas.
They toured with Silverchair on the "Across the Great Divide" Concert, from August to October 2007, trying to raise awareness of the indigenous people of Australia.
On the 9th of April 2010, it was announced at a press conference and on the band's website that after 20 years together, Powderfinger would be disbanding after their farewell Sunsets Tour. Of the split, frontman Bernard Fanning stated:
With the completion of our last album, Golden Rule, we feel that we have said all that we want to say as a musical group. We firmly believe that it is our most complete and satisfying album and can't think of a better way to farewell our fans than with music that we all believe in and also with, hopefully, our best tour to date.
Love Your Way

And if I prove no good here I'll skip to where I should
It's only an imaginary vigil we keep
You salvage what you need I'll take the love you leave
I love your way
I can't explain
What made me change
I'm wading in deeper ever deeper as I go
I drown the whole idea as I drift away from you
It's only an imaginary vigil we keep
You salvage what you need I'll take the love you leave
I love your way
I can't explain
what made me change
I love your way
And as the memory gathers dust, buried in its crust
Are the remains of what we've done and the seed of what we've just begun
The tapping of the rain beats a corrugated drum
And the city glows well it pulses on 1(to the city hum)/2(Until the day is done)
(x2)
I love your way
I can't explain
what made me change
The opening lines of the song Love Your Way by Powederfinger convey a sense of restlessness and discontentment that are driving the singer to keep moving. They feel as if they are freezing in their current situation and need to skip to where they should be, suggesting that they are not where they want to be. The lines "It's only an imaginary vigil we keep / You salvage what you need I'll take the love you leave," suggest a sense of resignation to what the singer perceives to be a meaningless vigil. They indicate that the singer is willing to take what they can get and make the best of it, even if it means salvaging what love is left.
The chorus, "I love your way, I can't explain what made me change," adds a layer of complexity to the singer's feelings. They are not content with their current situation, but they still love the person whose love they are salvaging. The line "I drown the whole idea as I drift away from you," conveys that love is not enough to keep one afloat in the face of adversity. The final lines of the song use rain as a metaphor for growth and renewal, suggesting that despite the difficulties, there is still hope for a new beginning.

Daughter of Women.
From the Book of Daniel.
Old Testament
Though you were corrupted by the King of the North and whatever the god of forces, this new god, of which our forefathers new not. That he shall strengthen with precious stones, gold and silver. An unknown and new thing that is not of our learning, understanding or order.
Return yourself to the things of heaven that are not a hell. As described by the Archangel Gabriel in the Hadiths given unto our Muslim brothers and sisters and descendents of Ishmael son of Abraham from Hagar the Egyptian servant who met our Father at the well, proclaiming, "Behold the God who sees me" like unto no other God she had ever known, Selah.
Make way the ready for the coming of The Lord, make ready the way for the coming of The Lord, The Most High God of Israel, The Lord of Hosts and The King of Jacob.
As Daniel described, "She shall not stand for them" but returns to the rightful place with The One True God and Father, as should be the case for His
"Daughter of Women"
Your ministry awaits and Your place with God that is yours and yours alone. That the Holy One of Israel, The Son of Man and Our Father, wait for you, is no understatement. And so does the Kingdom of Heaven, The Kingdom of the Living God who holds Eternity in His hand and heart for us all.
Behold,
"The Daughter of Women"
And may she have much baggage, learning, wisdom and love, ready to minister unto so very many like her yet more vulnerable and persecuted, manipulated, controlled and victimised as this world does to so many.
She gotta be loved and so do us all.
Inshallah, Deo Volente Forever
Amen
