Here is a historic fact: The name Jesus has only existed since the 17th century. Before, we find in the 1611 English Version of the Bible (KJV), it was Iesus, with an I not a J. Before Iesus, a Latin name, which came from the Greek name Iesous. Iesous is a transliteration of the Aramaic name Yeshua, a common name among the Jews at the time of the Savior. In other words, it was like the name Michael, many people had this name. None of the above names are the Savior’s true name. The Savior’s name is revealed from Heaven, and this name, YAHSHUA, is not to be subjected to linguistic evolution. Here is the problem: According to the New Testament, there is only one name, and every language, tongue, is to know it! His name is YAHSHUA, however, the Jews called Him Yeshua, however, the revealed name of the Savior is YAHSHUA, “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12). “Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name (YAH) which is above every name, that at the name of YAHSHUA every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that YAHSHUA the Christ is LORD, to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:9-11).
Here is a false premise: “I speak English, so I say, ‘Jesus.’
Here is a false statement: “It is about the Person and not the name.”
Here is a false sentiment: “God knows what I mean, the name is not important.”
Here is the essence of the Gospel: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God (John 3:16-18).
A noted scholar has declared that the name YAHSHUA is a philological impossibility!
What is Philology: “The branch of knowledge that deals with the structure, historical development, and relationships of a language or languages.”
Therefore, according to Philology, the name “Jesus” is a philological impossibility! The historical development is clear, the name “Jesus” did not exist until some time after the 17th century. Scholars identify Yeshua as the most likely name of the Savior.
The Name of YAHSHUA Forbidden
“Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled. And they realized that they had been with YAHSHUA. And seeing the man who had been healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it. But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred among themselves, saying, ‘What shall we do to these men? For, indeed, that a notable miracle has been done through them is evident to all who dwell in Jerusalem, and we cannot deny it. But so that it spreads no further among the people, let us severely threaten them, that from now on they speak to no man in this name.’ So they called them and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of YAHSHUA. But Peter and John answered and said to them, ‘Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you more than to God, you judge. For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.’ So when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding no way of punishing them, because of the people, since they all glorified God for what had been done. For the man was over forty years old on whom this miracle of healing had been performed” (Acts 4:13-22). With the emergence of the Greek language taking over the Hebrew/Aramaic language, they ignorantly held to the name Yeshua, and transliterated it to Iesous. We must hold to the revealed name of YAHSHUA because, according to the Gospel, to reject the revealed name is to stand condemned (John 3:18). {www.nazareanministryofyahshua.com} Halleluyah, Praise YAH, Praise YAHSHUA!
