How do you deal with low blood pressure?

@inna8595

Water and lying down help me. Then I drink coffee or tea.

@Paramedstore

@Inna  Good way 👍

@Scraggledust

So far, the fastest relief I get, is from drinking pedialyte; even though I also drink 96oz of water (minimum) I still suffer. I usually also do deep breathing to try and help the insane shaking and feeling like at any moment I’m gonna hit the floor hard. It typically takes about 30-45 mins to recover though.

I gave my dad salty water and he recovered quickly

Does taking 1 325mg Bayer aspirin raise blood pressure or lower it?

I am being treated for heart failure with low blood pressure at age 69. I have had low blood pressure all my life. I am, however, being prescribed one high blood pressure medication after another, as I am having a terrible time tolerating them, and feel horrible. I am told it will "protect my heart" but seems to me to make things worse.

Talk about your thoughts with your doctor. He or she may be able to explain in more detail why you are being prescribed these medications. Doctors prescribe medications, understanding their side effects. But very often the side effects of taking certain medications are worse than not taking those medications. High blood pressure for a hypotensive person is even worse than for a person with normal pressure. Therefore, perhaps, after assessing the risks, you were prescribed medication for hypertension. In any case, be sure to contact your doctor if your blood pressure drops sharply or very frequently. We wish you good health!

Good advice….however, just wanted to say that when you have a spinal cord injury…..low blood pressure is unfortunately, a side symptom…wish they had warned me of that while in the hospital, so I could have known what to do, to deal with it. Fortunately, mine SHOULD correct itself, in time…but only time itself will tell. I have found though that increasing your sodium intake (that would be where the pretzels come in) helps a lot…especially since I wasn’t getting enough sodium in my diet…a vital nutrient we need to function properly. Too little is just as bad as having too much!

You are absolutely right!
I'm sorry you are experiencing these issues. Get well soon! We wish you good health!
