Psycho
Primal Fear Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

When the fallen angel calls
And your kingdom slowly falls
Human sacrifice will turn into your
Enemies

There are species you can't buy
Not like your all corrupt alliance
Can see and already feel
The blade of the guillotine

There is no way out
There will be no release
You'll see the light
Sooner than believe
Listen to the story
Your friend the priest will tell
I'm gonna ring the bell

Psycho
Psycho in the air

Sweat is running down your face
You look like a mess - a disgrace
A whining wimp will fall into eternity

There is no way out
There will be no release
You'll see the light
Sooner than believe
Listen to the story
Your friend the priest will tell
I'm gonna ring the bell

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Primal Fear's Psycho describe a coming apocalypse when a fallen angel will call and bring about the end of civilization. The kingdom of the human race will crumble, and human sacrifices will occur, with enemies turning on one another. The lyrics suggest that the corrupt nature of humanity's alliances and governments will lead to the demise of the species.

The song speaks to the inevitability of the apocalypse, with no chance of escape or release. The use of the guillotine as a metaphor for death paints a picture of the brutality of the final days. The chorus repeating the word "psycho" reinforces the chaotic and destructive nature of the impending doom. The lyrics advise the listener to listen to the priest's story and prepare for the apocalypse, as though it is the final chance for salvation.

@BettyChaos

Even if you don't, I guess you'll agree that bands tend to have their own styles of music ;) I just do not hear what I consider to be characteristic for Megadeth's style in this track, though I agree it's different and heavier than the rest of the album. But that's only my opinion. Or me listening to too much of old Megadeth ;) P.S. Pozdrowienia z Polski :P
