Under Your Spell
Prime Ministers Lyrics

Once again you have me upside down
It was just last night that I told myself
That this was it; I want you off my life
I'm growing old, I'm growing wise
So far apart from each other
Can someone tell me why?
Suspended mind
Extended range
You got me, under your spell
Suspended mind
Extended range
You got me, under your spell
I can't get now, get you off my mind
It's in my face, can't you see the lines
I can't relax, can't even close my eyes
I wish I could,
Get you off my side
I'm growing old, I'm growing wise
So far apart from each other
Can someone tell me why?
Suspended mind
Extended range
You got me, under your spell
Suspended mind
Extended range
You got me, under your spell
I'm working overtime
Sometimes it's so unfair
Do you think less of me when I'm asleep?
Suspended mind
Extended range
You got me, under your spell
The lyrics of Under Your Spell explores the idea of being unable to shake off a certain someone, despite knowing that it would be better to let go. The singer admits that they are growing old and wise, perhaps suggesting that they have had similar experiences in the past, yet they still find themselves entranced by this person. The phrase "suspended mind, extended range" evokes a sense of being in limbo, of being unable to move on, and the repetition of "you got me, under your spell" reinforces the idea of being under someone's control.
The lyrics also touch on the idea of insecurity and the fear of not being good enough for this person. The line "do you think less of me when I'm asleep?" hints at feelings of inadequacy, as if the singer is worried that even their subconscious thoughts won't measure up to this person's expectations.
Overall, the lyrics in Under Your Spell are about being caught in a cycle of obsession and insecurity, and the struggle to break free from it.
