Primer 55 was formed in 1997 by guitarist Bobby Burns and vocalist J-Sin. The two met when J-Sin's previous band was the opening act for Burns' previous band. Burns' heavy metal music influences and J-Sin's hip hop influences melded to create the band's rap rock sound. Bassist Mike "Jr." Christopher and drummer Josh McLane were then added to complete the line-up.
They made 2 albums before disbanding in 2003, then reforming in 2007 to make one more album that same year, before disbanding in 2015. In 2018, the lead singer Jason "J-Sin' Luttrell passed away. He was 40 years old.

On the prowl, just sizin' up as the body counts keep rizin' up, yeah
I ain't down with that G-shit, G
You fuck with me, you fuck around and get that wig split
You wanna war?
You got that war, bitch
Terror and mayhem
I bring you terror and mayhem, step
Killin' sprees, shootin' all those wannabes
Those G's bringin' those bitches to their knees
A tiskit a taskit, that ass in a casket
But do you think it seems a bit drastic?
I ain't down with that G-shit
G, you fuck with me, you fuck around and get that wig split
You wanna war?
You got that war, bitch
Terror and mayhem
Step, muthafucka, just step
I bring you terror and mayhem, step
Got something for that wannabe G-ass
Got something for that fake
Got something for that wannabe G-ass
I know you love to hate
Terror and mayhem
Step, muthafucka, just step
I bring you terror and mayhem, step
One little G talking shit like a big shot
That muthafucka is the first one to get shot
You think I play when I come with what I'm stressing?
I am gonna teach these muthafuckin' lessons face down, nose in the dirt
You bleeding; one less G in the hood still breathing
You wanna war?
You got that war, bitch
Terror and mayhem
Step, muthafucka, just step
I bring you terror and mayhem, step
Step, muthafucker
The lyrics of Primer 55's song "G's" is a commentary on gang violence and the dangerous allure of gang culture. The verses detail the never-ending cycle of gang-related violence, where young lives are lost, and the body count keeps rising. The singer is not interested in being a part of this toxic environment, and he warns any potential foe that they will face a severe consequence if they mess with him. The chorus of the song is a call to arms, where the singer promises to bring terror and mayhem to his enemies, urging them to step up and face him.
The lines "Killin' sprees, shootin' all those wannabes / Those G's bringin' those bitches to their knees" highlights the disparity between the glorification of gang culture and the reality of the violence it generates. Similarly, "Got something for that wannabe G-ass / Got something for that fake" showcases the singer's disdain for people who pretend to be a part of a gang for the sake of appearance. The lines "One little G talking shit like a big shot / That muthafucka is the first one to get shot" demonstrates the singer's belief that those who talk the talk must walk the walk or face the consequence.
In conclusion, the song "G's" speaks about the devastating effects of gang culture and the cycle of violence associated with it. Primer 55's message is clear; gang life is not something to idolize or emulate but something to be cautious about and avoid.
