Primer 55 was formed in 1997 by guitarist Bobby Burns and vocalist J-Sin. The two met when J-Sin's previous band was the opening act for Burns' previous band. Burns' heavy metal music influences and J-Sin's hip hop influences melded to create the band's rap rock sound. Bassist Mike "Jr." Christopher and drummer Josh McLane were then added to complete the line-up.
They made 2 albums before disbanding in 2003, then reforming in 2007 to make one more album that same year, before disbanding in 2015. In 2018, the lead singer Jason "J-Sin' Luttrell passed away. He was 40 years old.

I'm a breed, I'm a breed of my own kind
Attitude, gratitude - I let that shit carry me
And do it every day until the muthafuckas bury me
And you think we dress and we act strange?
To un-change the words that we exchange
Take a deep breath; try to leave that shit unsaid
And step on the stage where I unleash the hatred
[Chorus]
Know who the fuck you're talkin' to?
Know who the fuck you're talkin' to?
Know who the fuck you're talkin' to?
Know who the fuck you're talkin' to?
Out of my way
Out of my way
Hypocrites, politics, and democracy
Governments overran by hypocrisy
There they go, there they go
All in my business, sellin' their souls, and they ask for forgiveness
And I think everybody better come clean
And raise up to the wrongs that are happening
Take a deep breath; try to leave that shit unsaid
And step on the stage where I unleash the hatred
[Chorus]
Get back
Get back, muthafucker, get back!
