Their debut full length Scorn was released in 2013, followed by Caustic in 2017 and Immersion in 2020. The band has also released a number of EPs, singles and splits.

look into grave upheaval, their latest untitled album is the scariest thing ive ever heard. especially track III

primitive man is about as nasty as it gets in regards to quality production metal because usually when metal is cleanly produced its awful but this is terrifying despite its high production quality (compare to the loudnesss and quality of grave upheaval to see what i mean)

but no music has sounded more sinister to me than grave upheaval, other than maybe hwwauoch (more of a black metal one tho, grave upheaval is actually blackened death doom) but the vocals are particularly terrifying in both of these projects. the atmosphere is like being in an underwater cave.

id also recommend the first impetuous ritual album (shares members with grave upheaval and portal) with the blue album art (has a v long name) that is one of the heaviest death metal records ive ever heard. sounds like this but sped up, scarier vocals, and a snare drum the feels like a cow prod going through your head.

but primitive man truly is one of the heaviest

Just saw them this weekend. I had an anxiety attack but was absolutely worth it. I had zero clue how amazing it could be until seeing them live while in sheer panic. Will be obsessed with them now on.

@Glen McHargue I enjoy the aftershock when the cold sweats come in. Feels like absolute relaxation. Helps to accept the panic attack when it happens. I just let it wash over me so I can get to the part after and just relax.

This reminds me a little bit of Observer by The Acacia Strain in some places. I've heard lots of doom before, but this ultra-grimey, yet well produced, downtrodden onslaught of sludge is something you rarely hear.

I'm going a bit from what Melon said about this but imagine you're locked in a dark room, a small sliver of light shone through the ceiling. Dehydrated and confused there's a man in front of you, every single song on this record is a new weapon he continues to agonizingly beat you with. Over and over again you are beaten into a bloody pulp. You become nothing but human tar until finally your dripping remains seep through the drain into the sewers.

This is heavier than sludge, this is tar. This is obliteration in a music form

This album is my favorite since it came out, it resonates perfectly with my inner self. I've bought a CD at their concert and it's in my car (together with Scorn), already worn out. I also have a theory why Ethan plays those 6 chords instead of regular 5's - he's too big so his paw naturally grabs a bigger interval than what an average guitar player would fret.
