Bjorn Wondollek and Johan Isaksson created Processor in 2001. Both are educated sound engineers living in the cities of Norrkoping and Orebro, Sweden. Bjorn is the main sound and sample producer. He provides Processor's music with the edgy fx and industrial soul.
Bjorn likes to experiment with synthesizers and effect routings. Bjorn often has sessions in the night doing mixes as long as five hours or until his computer crashes. Then he sends material over the internet to Johan.
Bjorn has his musical roots in the 80s industrial and electronic music, listening to bands such as Skinny Puppy, Ministry and Frontline Assembly. The interest for electronic music made Bjorn want to compose his own music. Bjorn is making trance-remixes for other projects alongside with the project Processor and he is also studying music production at the University.
Johan experiments, mixes and arrange the samples from Bjorn. Johan prefers a straight beat but he is also a fan off breaks and drum and bass. Johan often samples voices from the Television but he also samples recorded voices.
The voice is not the most important ingredients in a song. Johan and Bjorn use the voice more like an instrument. The voice can be mixed lower and it's not the headline of the music. But they also do remix vocal artists. Before Processor, Johan was very much into ambient music, trance and jungle.
This particular album contents industrial techno with an edge off breaks. The beats are very heavy and the sounds are heavy processed!
We do not intend to take over the world, just the dance floors!
Johan Isaksson also releases his own music under the name of Magnatune artist "Wicked boy".

2. Processor is a Thrash/Death Metal band from Germany. The band consists of Jul Schumertl - Vocals, Christian Kirr - Guitars, Julian Planer - Bass, and Matthias Hansel - Drums. Their debut album "Heliopolis" was released in 2018.

Good video. I noticed nice gains in some different games also once I upgraded my CPU to my 7950x3D. I had the 5900x before that. Very game dependent but think newer games will take more advantage of the newer CPUs

A good test would be extration in helldive difficulty. With multiple titan, charger, ennemy bombardement and a 100 bugs running after you. Launch the extract at the same timer to avoid variation in density as much as possible.

i had a 1600 af (witch is a 2600 with lower speed and voltage) and changed to a 5600 and the difference is notable in every game, i also changed my graphics card several times 1050 ti > 3050 > 4060 ti and they obv make a difference too but a better cpu was needed to see more fps. now i play in between 80 to 110 fps depending the mission and planet and it drops from 80 to 60 and from 110 to 80 some times (i use it unccaped bcs of 144hz monitor but if i were to play in 60 or 70 fps there would be no fps drop) i used some high settings and other medium or low depending how much they are optimized and if they impact on cpu or gpu

Yes it can be quite CPU heavy and if you open your task manager the anti cheat also uses some CPU resources which isnt really a surprise.

What I've found is that this game has very good latency. Maybe they do some trickery that results on the GPU not being maxed. I can confirm this behavior is the same with an RX 6800

Nice. Wish I had a 14900 or 13900k to do 7800X 3D comparison. The game can get quite hectic in the higher difficulties group play.
Performance can vary quite a bit.

Do you have the 10bit TAG Support turned on in the MB BIOS...???? Does not look so by the colors in the video. Do you have the ram compression turned off...??? Big difference in the 2 MB if you don't have it turned off. There is just way to much difference in speed for the numbers you are getting.

Great video I dont think I'll upgrade any time soon I have a Ryzen 9 5950x paired with a RX 6800 XT 16GB card with a Samsung 990 Pro M.2 SSD so I'm running the game 4k ultra setting and getting beetween 60/70FPS so im very happy with my PC performance

DX11 is almost always better. It doesn't matter if you have NVidia or AMD. When I had my 1070 almost every time DX11 beat DX12. Usually by a few %. It's the same story on my 7900XT DX11 superior over DX12 while Vulkan beats them both. I started playing Witcher 3 on DX11 even though I have to sacrifice my HDR, because the improvement is like a 40% up lift going from DX12, back to DX11. There is only one game that DX12 is better than 11 and that's World of Warcraft, because that game is very CPU bound.

I would try to aim for 90 fps in this game which you should be able to do at 1440P with Ultra Quality Render Scale, maybe even native, or 4K Quality Render Scale, maxed out settings.

what difficulty are you playing on? reports are that playing on hard difficulty and beyond causes huge cpu usage issue due to amount of bugs. please test on harder difficulties. like on hard I get drops down to high 40s on a 5900x and you are getting way better performance

Agree that any benchmark of this game needs to be done at high difficulty bug missions

I play level 7 bugs regularly and i drop down into the upper 40s around extraction time too. Running a 5600x (overclocked on PBO) and a 3070. If you’re seeing something similar then think it’s normal.

Working on upgrading my R5 2600/16gb/1070 system to 32gb ram and a new CPU and GPU. IDK if an R7 5700/5800x3d is going to be worth it or not on an AM4+DDR4 system, especially since I'm going to most likely get an RX 7700xt or 7900gre. Or how the 5900x compares to the AM4 x3d cpus.

Not gonna be streaming and mostly still going to be using my PC as a browser and HTPC machine. Gonna be playing lots of older or lower-spec games, but love Helldivers 2 and will likely pick up GTA 6 and future higher-spec racing games, as well as The Last of Us and some recent high-ish spec games that I haven't played yet like RDR2. Plus I want Cyberpunk to actually run well.

What do you think? I prefer high presets, no upscaling, 1440p, 40fps 1% lows minimum (30fps 0.1% lows). Preferred 50-60fps 1% lows. Despite having a 120hz monitor I don't need the crazy frame rate for modern games as I play none of them competitively, and would simply lower the settings if I had to. Most comp games I play are either old, have low-performance requirements, or both, so I know I'll get insane FPS anyway.

I would go for a 5800X 3D.It would be a solid cpu even for a 7900XTX or 4090. You will see a huge jump in gaming CPU performance. I have done a 4 generations of Ryzen cpu comparison for Helldivers 2 (2600/3700X/5900X/7700X/7800X3D) Unfortunately dont have a 5800X 3D to throw in the mix but it should be between a 5800X and 7700X I would assume.

12 core CPUs are always less efficient than 8 core CPUs. You should either compare 5900X to 7900X or 7800X3D to 5800X3D. Then the differnece in performance would be smaller and power consumption would be pretty much identical.

Hey.. Running with his same setup.. 4090 and 7800x3D.. If I switch my settings to native my cpu jumps from 60 to 70.. However if I turn supersampling on it runs just fine.. All other games run fine on ultra settings? Thoughts?

That's because supersampling increases the render resolution beyond your targeted resolution and downsamples it for better anti aliasing, making the game more graphically demanding you are becoming GPU bound, meaning the FPS is limited by your GPU's performance. At native resolution (you should be getting more FPS) you are probably being CPU limited and CPU is running flat out thus a bit hotter.

Higher the FPS the harder CPU works = more heat. 70C is perfectly fine for a Ryzen 7800X 3D though, all the way up to 80C. They are designed to run at peak 95C all day long according to AMD

Pretty sure I've been running into issues with just a 6650xt (bios modded) and a 5600 non-x at 4.45ghz.

Last patch brought lots of stuttering so I've been messing with settings and found I dont get huge frame drops with async compute on.

With async med settings I'll drop from 80+fps to 15ish randomly and with async I stay above 50fps.
Without asyc my gpu utilization is all over the place to add.

A good test would be to get all your teammates and you to use both orbital barrages toss them into a nest and watch your GPU melt as your frame rate get cut in half

You will see a nice gain in not just FPS but 1% lows too. I just finished capturing footage of Ryzen 2600/3700X/5900X/7700X and 7800X3D for another CPU focused video I am doing for this game. Ill be editing it tomorrow. I'm well aware of Ryzen 2000 gaming performance in this game.

I've been using this chip for 5 and a half years and it's served me well, so I'll respectfully keep it in storage probably for a reuse. There's nothing to worry about. If it was 90C+ sure I guess. It depends on the CPU, architecture, manufacturing and specs. The X3D chips run a bit hotter regardless because its denser silicon, the cache is on top of the CPU. I have a pretty good cooler on it too a 360 aio corsair elite capellix. The 5900x has 240 corsair elite capellix.

With DX12 it doesnt really matter but I prefer borderless because of my multimonitor setup. That said I have tested Fullscreen as well. Its the same as far as performance.

I have extensively tested this and found out that the bottleneck no one talks about especially on AMD Ryzen Systems is the Memory latency. Ryzen's CPU's performance scales heavily with RAM timings , Single Rank vs Dual Rank , Ram Frequency, etc. while intel doesn't scale that much with RAM. To fix this heavy system latency Requirement of Ryzen they Launched the x3D Chips which by adding more cache closer to CPU die fixes it's own flaw.

The X3D chips should be standard issue from AMD.Most AMD CPU benchmarks you see on Internet are kinda misleading as they might be using Fast 3600 MT/s CL14 Dual Rank Memory and your avg guy RAM might be slowing down your PC by 10-50% depending on the Game/task.

The Low Latency RAM could cost as much as 3x higher than regular RAM

I would also like to mention Consoles, You might have seen Digital Foundry video where the talk about PS5 Equivalent PC and they use Ryzen 5 3600 + RTX 2070 Super , This is also Wrong as the Ryzen 5 3600 in PS5 has access to DDR6 Memory which isn't even possible on PC Right now. The PS5 CPU could be performing on part with the X3D Chips cause of the access to Much Faster Memory

My frame time is horrible on my 5900x with a 4080 super. Any ideas? I did ddu, pcie4 is enabled same with rebar. Did the Nvidia high power. 3600mhz mem. I dunno what else it could be. I had a 7900xt and the same thing was happening. I think by now the only thing I haven't changed is the memory and I might just get some new sticks to see if that's a problem.

Hmm, interesting. Frametimes are usually pretty good in this game. I've done another mor thorough CPU videos testing multiple Ryzens. The cpu does get hammered hard in higher difficulties intense situations.
I would make sure to update your chipset drivers, maybe even motherboard bios but monitor your CPU spasticity. It should clock similar to mine. Also Ryzen Master software is pretty good for stress testing, overclocking.

@@TerraWareyea I'm banging my head against the wall. My 2070 super didn't have frame time issues. And I thought the 7900xt frame time issue was amd being amd. But I'm getting it on the 4080 as well. So something else is going on.

And it's in every game not just helldivers. Every 10-15 secs I get a FT spike. I haven't updated those since I tried out the 7900xt last year.

I have a 7900XTX /6800XT and 3080Ti btw and swap between them a ton. As long as you use DDU it shouldnt be a driver conflict.

Could even be something that may get resolved with a Windows reinstall but I would make sure your CPU is at least running right as far as temps and boost behaviors. Have you tried resetting cmos?

a4027 it turned out to be a few to be ram was causing an issue. Went down to 2 sticks only. Which cleared up a lot of the frame time. Then I updated chipset, bios and cleared cmos and smoothed it out to normal. Thanks for the suggestions.

Even 7800X3D does not fully utilise the 4090 - it's at around 90-92% at 1440p. Sucks when games are not optimized well for CPUs and can't fully use it but are CPU bound, so they cripple the performance of the GPU. And you can't buy a more powerful CPU because the 7800X3D is the fastest out there in terms of gaming. That being said it doesn't really matter in this game because you are already pushing around 150 fps. Jedi Survivor on the other hand was an atrocity when it came out.

Definitely hitting some CPU bottlenecks at 1440. GPU utilization never goes beyond 95% in this game though. It was the same thing on the 6800XT and everything else.

If you check out my 3080Ti video at 2 minutes I show a quick side by side comparison and both 3080Ti and 6800XT are at 95%.
The 3080Ti is doing around 90 fps and 6800xt around 60.

I think its just the engine.

@@TerraWare The engine is a modified Autodesk Stingray game engine which was discontinued 4 yrs ago.

I think 1% lows are more important than high frames. You can be in a battle and slug all the way down to 30fps get ghost struck by an attack. The devs made avg frames on console 30fps for this reason.

Each system is different on PC so you would have to test your 1% lows or your lowest frames during battle. Hit F5 and F2 and will display your frames.

@@TerraWare its most likely game engine specific, for example i recently played quake 2021 remastered which uses new kex engine and in that game 95% is also the max gpu utilization, even in fully gpu bound scenario. Another example is rainbow six siege where it mostly will sit in ~85% of gpu utilization for some weird reason

My 7900 XT was at 61% usage. I use a 5800x, 1440p, and stream at the same time. I can tell the game is CPU heavy. But why doesn't the CPU go up into 90%+? My 5800x gets around 75%. I wonder what it's like with Intel. Or is this a game optimization thing.

Not sure but games dont utilize the CPU fully like rendering software may for example. Theres a lot of things that play a role from optimization to core count, IPC clock speeds etc.
Generally if your GPU use is that low your system/CPU is holding it back due to many factors.

@@Will-SSDD Yeah cpu bound. I play at same 3440 x 1440 with 4090/7800X 3D and become CPU bound in this game. As long as you getting good fps it's fine. This game remains pretty consistent frametime wise when CPU bound unlike some games like DD2

5 to 8% doesnt sound right at all. You could be looking at a different metric possibly.
50 to 80% would be more realistic but you seem to be CPU bound with GPU at 90%.
As long as you get good FPS its what matters. I was getting pretty good performance on my 6800XT with a 5900X Ryzen.

If you have your aio radiator mounted on top exhausting air out like mine, the hot 99% GPU air being exhausted would result in higher CPU temps.
Whereas Cinebench is a cpu only benchmark that runs for a shorter amount of time.
Thats what I think's happening.

I dont think you're doing anything wrong. CPU running at a 100% it is designed to do that on a consistent basis.
Are you maybe running background tasks too? As long as your framerate is good and consistent its fine.

CPU's are never fully utilized in gaming because of the type of workload. There's a lot of factors, IPC, clock speeds, cache, frequency that determine max fps you can get in a game.

Unless your running the 7800x 3D with the identical DDR4 RAM across both platforms your not really comparing cpus properly. If HD2 is in question as CPU heavy than why the comparison? Perhaps it is in fact very cpu heavy and I believe it is, as well as not well optimized. Using HW info you'll find very heavy usage across 6 cores maybe 8 at times which is why your seeing 50-60% on the cpu usage because your using only about half the cores. 3D vcash along with DDR5 ram will always give you the difference in fps seen because data moves far more efficiently to the GPU but GPU usage remains close to the same because still your only using half or less of the cpu's production. All in all it's the game not your rig, per se.

Really appreciate you doing these comparison, I play at 4k (RTX3080 and AMD 3700x). I'm getting to the point where I need to decide on the next gen GPU and upgrade to a 5900x or a complete platform upgrade for 4k gaming. This and maybe other UE5 games to come are starting to make the decision harder to make.

I have a 3700X too. With a 3080 at 4K you're probably alright. You could just go 5800X 3D and it would be fine even for a 4090 for the most part.

I agree with Terra, just get a 5800X3D, it's still one of the best performing CPUs for gaming, usually in the 5 if not top 3, the only downside is that it's a dead-end platform, so if you feel like you're going to upgrade things again in 2 years or so instead of 4 years, you might be better off getting an AM5 board.
For GPU you could go with something like a 4070 ti super so you can stay under a grand, but still get 16GB vram, but I'd probably wait for the 5000 series so the remaining 4000 series will lower in price even further.

I personally went AM5 for the 7800X3D, but in hindsight sidegrading from intel 11700k to AM4 with 5800X3D would've been the more economical choice, also since DDR5 was expensive when I built it, it's more affordable now, but still double that of DDR4, and honestly I didn't see that much improvement from upgrading the RAM, most came from the CPU and GPU.

In your case though, all you need to do for now is just upgrade to the 5800X3D and you're set for another 2 years, 4 years if you whana stretch it, the 3080 is a good card, it's a shame you don't have the ti though, being limited to 10gb vram can hurt if you want a high resolution with high texture quality, if you don't midn dropping down to high instead of ultra the 3080 will also be fine still at 1440p.

I also recommend the 5800x3D. I owned a 3700x, between the two its a night and day difference. At 4k the 5800x3d vs the 7800x3d is almost no difference.

Oh yeah. It'll pack a ton of frames. Even getting the much cheaper Ryzen 7600 will give you around a 5800X 3D level of FPS while being on a future proof platform.

Depends on the resolution but yeah I think so. My 3080Ti does 90 FPS at 1440P maxed out settings.

@@Skeames1214 Yeah, I do need to upgrade my gpu at some point - rest of my rig is really good, but my gpu is lacking especially at 3440x1440. Surprisingly it still runs every game I need it to fine and I have had no issues with the 8gb vram yet as I only recently just upgraded to 3440x1440 about 2 months ago so not sure if I will run into issues at some point.

To be honest the main games I play are very cpu demanding such as Escape from Tarkov and Rust so luckily I think the gpu will be fine for now.

In game wise the 5900x and 7600x are almost the same just a few fps difference. However the 5900x blows the 7600x out of the water in production related things. So, I wouldn't say the 7600x is better, at all.

Check your bios. Make sure your ram is running at its max rated speed (ex. mine is running at 5600) Use MSI to measure your CPU clock. Your 7800x3D should be consistently hitting 5000mhz or above. If its lower than that, try PBO. I went for a dynamic undervolt profile to keep temperatures cool while hitting high clocks.

Also make sure your Bios is updating the settings. I had a dead Cmos battery for years and my motherboard was holding back my hardware perfomance for a long time. Make sure your Bios is in working order.

Yeah I can see it. The game doesnt stutter when CPU bound though so its not that big of a deal I feel and you are getting around 60+ fps.
Testing Dragons Dogma 2 is a different story.

I'm certainly glad I didn't spend more on a better gpu cos it seems with current cpus they wouldn't keep up.. FYI I play native res but not all the setting turned up..

@@jeroenrodenboog3815 unfortunately it seems so. One thing I just found out that might help you out is that the in game frame rate limiter is bugged and can cause higher cpu temps. If you are going to cap fps use afterburner. That’s been helping some people

A 5900x really depends on fast RAM and tight timings. So you can only compare if you use the correct RAM.

Yup, I have seen some comments saying the same thing with similar CPU. Its nothing to worry about. CPU's are designed to run at 100% consistently. Its a 6 core CPU.

I am working on another CPU video for this game but testing Ryzen 2000/3000/5000 and 7000.
