It's an Omen
It's an Omen
It's an Omen

Now!
The writing's on the wall
It won't go away
It's an Omen
You just run on automation
Now!
The writing's on the wall
It won't go away
It's an Omen
It's an Omen
It's an Omen

Now!
The writing's on the wall
It won't go away
It's an Omen
You just run on automation

Now!
Now!

Now!
The writing's on the wall
It won't go away
It's an Omen
You just run on automation

Now!
The Writing's on the wall
It won't go away
It's an Omen
It's an Omen
It's an Omen

Now!
It's an Omen
Now!

Now!

Now!

Overall Meaning

The Prodigy's song "Omen" is a powerful and ominous track that conveys a sense of impending doom or danger. The repetition of "It's an Omen" throughout the song creates a feeling of foreboding, as if something terrible is about to happen. The lyrics suggest that there is a warning sign that cannot be ignored, as "the writing's on the wall" and "it won't go away." The phrase "You just run on automation" implies that people are not taking action or making choices, but are instead being controlled by external forces.

The urgency of the song is emphasized by the repeated use of the word "now," which creates a sense of being in the present moment and needing to act quickly. The repetition of the phrase "The writing's on the wall" is a reference to the Biblical story of Daniel, in which a mysterious hand writes on a wall, predicting a kingdom's downfall. This further adds to the theme of a warning sign that cannot be ignored.

Overall, "Omen" is a haunting and powerful song that conveys a sense of danger and the need for action. Its repetitive lyrics and urgent tone make it a memorable track that stands out in The Prodigy's discography.

It's so self referencing but still so fresh. I love it.

Many musicians tend to shun their early work, especially if it becomes "unfashionable" or subjectively less intelligent or evolved as later stuff.

But this track is like a big declaration of "fuck that, I'm PROUD of everything we've done"

It's like the spirit of their earlier stuff but re-mastered in 4k HDR and then a sprinkle of all other other periods in their career.

Some critics considered it a lazy re-tread but I see it more as a celebration of their music and not being afraid to look back and acknowledge where they came from while still moving forward.
