Unfortunately for Prof, thereβs an underlying seriousness to his lyrics that he tries his hardest to cover with layer upon layer of party-perfect beats and rhymes. Growing up on the South Side of Minneapolis, Prof matured in step with the local hip-hop scene. In his 24 years, heβs seen some shit that canβt help but escape from his memory and into his songs, lending his lines the kind of wisdom that can only be born on hard city streets. He started free styling in eighth grade and, although he likes to have fun with his music, the swiftness of his rise to local fame shows how seriously he regards his rap career.
A rowdy young buck who loves a good time, Prof wants his music to inspire others to party it up with him. In a world where credibility is currency, Prof sticks a middle finger to those who feel hip-hop should be straight-faced and serious.
βEveryoneβs trying to be a preacher or a politicianβ telling you how to live your life,β he says. βIβm not running for Senate. Iβm doing this for fun and I donβt watch my mouth.β
Profβs debut solo album, Project Gampo, definitely made a lasting impression on local music critics and hip-hop heads. βProf is wall-to-wall here in all his glory, with clever one-liners out the a**, hyperactive and delicious vocab spills popped like collars- picture a supreme smarta** with gorilla swagger and a mouth as fast as his mindβ¦ Point blank, this kidβs got more flavor and flow than all five of your favorite MCs combined.β (City Pages, May 12, 2008)

Prof Lyrics

Shoot, shoot, murder, kill
Shoot, shoot, shoot, shoot
Shoot, shoot, murder, kill
Shoot, shoot, murder, kill
Shoot, shoot, murder, kill
Shoot, shoot, shoot, shoot
Murder, kill, murder, kill
Sick, sippin' Simalac, I holler
"where the victims at?"
I'll find them in a cypher
And that's where I kill them at
I kill you rappers freestylin'
Y'all the boring version
And when you die I won't miss
You i'm not a mo (u) rning person
Ugh, goddamn it I'm good
I'm that one that climb that ladder
Out of the hundreds who could
I got y'all under my foot
I give you bitches six months
To turn around and copy my
Shit you posing punks
I need to travel often, young Prof
Battle problem i want beef so bad I swore
I heard the cattle talkin'
Offer me your cup
See if I'm real and I can fill it up
I think you've mistaken me for someone
Who might give a fuck
Tag along with the Prof, hop in the back-seat
Roll around the city like Rudolph Nasty
Got a couple of chickens that swallow fastly
Call it nasty, follow Papi
I have already been where you'll never know
Five-star General, animal
I'll have 'em all
Sure it's like a Duracell
Sure it's like a Duracell
Shoot, shoot, murder, kill
Personnel, everybody
You and him and her as well everybody
Sure it's like a Duracell
Shoot, shoot, murder, kill
Personnel, everybody
You and him and her as well
Oh my God, I'm loose on the streets again
The only question is which house
To put the ether in
I got my daddy in me, I like to start shit
I put a fire to your complex apartment
Oh geez, I'm a fly trapeze
Easily breeze through your fly trap, please
He's Hercules and his mind raps
Easily to what he's thinkin'
Could you rewind that please?
Ladies and gentlemen, brethren and sisters
I'm so sick to the point that my wrist hurts
This is a meat-shop, and I'm the butcher
Boy you're on my list of everything
I hate and could destroy
I rap with gale force
Get the fuck inside your homes
This ain't sticks and stones
This right here will break your bones
If you can keep up with me
Then you're a liar
Five tracks, four days, mixtape, Powderhorn
General Kaiser
I'm Robo-Prof-tologist, about to talk
Hawk loogies on your carpet
I think I am car-sick
Sure it's like a Duracell
Shoot, shoot, murder, kill
Personnel, everybody
You and him and her as well
Yeah my shit stinks, fuck what a bitch thinks
I'm like an NHL player up in a kids' rink
I am too big for this, like a McPlayground
I think I'll stomp my white
Ass back to A-town
The lyrics of Prof's song "Shoot Shoot Kill" convey a strong sense of aggression and superiority. The repetition of the phrases "shoot, shoot, murder, kill" emphasizes the violent theme of the song, suggesting a desire to eliminate competition and assert dominance. The artist's confident and boastful tone throughout the lyrics further enhances this message.
Prof starts by declaring his intention to find victims in a cypher, referring to a freestyle rap session where he aims to outshine other rappers. He dismisses their skills as boring and asserts his own superiority by stating that he won't miss them when they're gone. He challenges his rivals to copy his style while simultaneously asserting his originality.
The lyrics also showcase Prof's eagerness for conflict and battle, portraying himself as a fearless warrior. He mocks those who try to challenge him and claims to have already been to places they can never reach. Prof's lyrics display his arrogance and determination to surpass his competitors, using aggressive language and vivid imagery to establish his dominance.
