The lyrics of Professor's song Side Effects revolve around cautioning people about the negative consequences of certain actions, particularly with regards to engaging in risky sexual behavior. The opening lines, "Aphi amakhekhe mtanami/Mascula ayi kujaiva ama olady abantu abazi ama side affect" translate to "where are the condoms, my child/let's not play around with ladies who don't know about the side effects". The verses go on to emphasize the importance of safe sex practices and avoiding behaviors that could lead to negative outcomes.
The chorus, "Woza ulindel' usabeleth' ingane/Sheshisa ah ah wasala bakshiya abanye" roughly translates to "come and wait until the child is born/ turn it up, don’t leave others behind". This can be interpreted as a call to be responsible and patient when engaging in sexual activity, and to encourage others to do the same.
Overall, the song Side Effects aims to promote messages of responsible behavior and awareness of the potential consequences of actions. It serves as a reminder to always practice safe sex and make responsible choices.
