The lyrics of Provision's song "Flood of Emotion" reflect the feeling of being caught up in someone else's emotional turmoil and choosing to break away from it. The first verse describes someone who is sinking to the same level as many before them, desperate for attention, but the singer wants to make it clear that they will not be the one to leave. They are suspended in time, holding on to the truth while everything else around them is changing. The chorus describes the overwhelming emotions that come with being caught in a flood of emotion, whether it be tears of sadness, belief or deception, the passage of time will continue to rearrange all that was once thought to be certain.
The second verse goes on to speak of conviction lying among false pretension and how sometimes saving oneself can become a fallacy. The singer's only intention now is to move on and the drama from the past has been removed. The final lines of the song bring it all together, as the singer declares that they can't believe the lies anymore and they know that the tears are not for them. It is a song about breaking away from emotional turmoil, holding on to truth, and choosing to move forward.
