The three man band, Puggy, plays a whole new kind of acoustic rock that proves that you don’t need an entire orchestra to get the ground shaking. Possibly thanks to their English, Swedish, French influences that range from 1920’s New Orleans to 21st century metal. Matt’s broken and smooth voice (yes, they're opposites) go perfectly with his dry little guitar riffs and give the band a seriously groovy sound that gets the band going. His part of the puzzle could only be completed with Romain and Ziggy’s rythm section. Though Ziggy makes a point of being seriously harsh on his drumset, there’s more to it than just hitting the thing, he manages to make it go perfectly with Romain’s wicked bass slapping and tapping.
There isn’t a band today that has the experience, influence and originality of Puggy, and they're only starting.
Their first record "Dubois died today" was released in June 2007. Puggy being a live band hit the road big time to promote it. They toured Europe for a month with american band Incubus, opened in Bercy (France) for the Smashing Pumpkins, did a whole french tour with Fiction Plane and headlined their one shows in England, France and Belgium.
They are currently working on their next album. Some tracks are already being played live.
Empty Streets

The moon was made for us to keep
The winter came the cold the rain
And we did nor complain
We had our empty streets
And that's why
I wish I could build a world for you
And give your everything your heart desires
As everyone you know will tell you
Before the days could get away
We trapped them in out sleep
So they could never leave
The years were scared,
Never dared lay a hand on us
Time was hours to heave
Remember when the nights had no end
And life was all we had to eat
We stole the clocks and hid them all
Behind a crooked lock
And kept out empty streets
And that's why
Puggy's song "Empty Streets" is a beautifully nostalgic tribute to the joy and freedom of youth. The song takes the listener on a journey back in time, to a period in life when anything seemed possible and nothing was impossible. The opening lines, "Remember when the nights had no end, the moon was made for us to keep," paint a vivid picture of carefree nights spent with friends, lost in the magical glow of the moon. The joy and energy of these times is palpable in the upbeat rhythm and lively melody of the song.
Throughout "Empty Streets," Puggy sings about the tight-knit group of friends who shared these timeless memories. In particular, the song touches on the cold, wet winter nights that failed to dampen their spirits. Rather than staying indoors, they braved the elements to explore the empty streets, reveling in the sense of freedom that they found there. The chorus perfectly captures this feeling, with Puggy singing: "We had our empty streets, and that's why I wish I could build a world for you."
As the song progresses, Puggy continues to reminisce about these halcyon days. He sings about stealing clocks to prolong the time they had together, and about trapping the days in their sleep so that they could never end. The overall message of the song is one of gratitude and appreciation for the friends who shared these unforgettable times together. Through its simple, nostalgic lyrics and lively, upbeat melody, "Empty Streets" captures the beautiful simplicity of a life filled with love, laughter, and friendship.
