Pulley's debut, Esteem Driven Engine, was released in 1996 by Epitaph. Riddle joined No Use for a Name full-time soon afterwards and was replaced by Tyler Rebbe. Follow-ups included 60 Cycle Hum in 1997 and their eponymous third album in 1999.
They also released Together Again for the First Time (after the death of Jim Cherry) and Matters, both showing their disillusionment with the aging out of the 'old' scene.

Don't want to repeat.
Yeah I'm in this for me.
If any fun.
That's what I've done.
That's how its gonna be.
Gotta kill the rock stars fast today.
All that is said and done.
I just want to have fun
I'm not gonna wash my ass today.
Even though it really stinks.
I'm going to make the band smell bad.
I don't care what anybody thinks.
Don't want to save the whales when the system fails
Don't want to feed the bums.
I'm in this for me.
I just want to have fun
The song "Fun" by Pulley is a reflection of the life of a rockstar who doesn't want to be bothered with the responsibilities that come with fame but instead focuses on enjoying the moment. The lyrics are straightforward and emphasize the theme that the singer is only in it for themselves and their own enjoyment. The song speaks to the idea that the pursuit of pleasure and fun can be a priority over everything else.
The song starts with the introduction of the singer who is only looking out for themselves and is solely responsible for their own happiness. This individual is not interested in repeating the past and wants to proceed with their agenda. They are only interested in pleasing themselves and having fun. The lyrics "That's what I've done. That's how it's gonna be" suggest that the singer is determined to live in their own bubble of pleasure and will not let anyone affect their decision.
The lyrics "Gotta kill the rock stars fast today. Gotta save the world from any pain" indicates a sense of urgency to enjoy life while they can, as well as a disregard for the societal pressure to be a role model or influence in the world. The singer goes further to express their carefree outlook on life as they would rather prioritize pleasure over basic hygiene. The song reveals the singer's worldview that they shouldn't bother saving the world or treating others kindly if it gets in the way of their own enjoyment.

These are the actual lyrics: Let's get it straight, don't wanna debate. Yeah, I'm in this for me. If it ain't fun, that's when I'm done. That's how it's gonna be. Don't wanna kill the rock stars, smash the state, Don't wanna save the world from impending fate. When all is said and done, I just wanna have fun.
