1. Pullovers were a band formed in São Paulo, Brazil in 1999. Led by Luiz Venâncio, the band initially performed songs in English, featuring distorted guitars and lively beats. Their debut album, titled "Pullovers Can't Play Covers," was produced by Adriano Cintra, a former member of CSS.
With their collaboration with actress and model Geanine Marques on the album "Carniça," the band gained recognition. However, it was their 2009 release, "Tudo Que Eu Sempre Sonhei" (Everything I've Always Dreamed Of), that brought them widespread acclaim. Departing from their earlier style, the album featured songs inspired by the urban environment of São Paulo, with a shift towards Portuguese lyrics and a different musical approach. It received critical acclaim and was recognized as one of the best independent albums of 2009 by certain media outlets.
The band disbanded in the same year of their breakthrough album's release. Following the breakup, Luiz Venâncio embarked on a new project called "O Cantor Mudo e a Sonora Vaia" in 2013. The Pullovers' legacy remains tied to their energetic performances, distorted guitars, and their experimentation with language and musical styles.
On June 8th in 2023 the Band unexpectedly came back with a new single titled: "Trabalhar na MTV" (Work at MTV) in collaboration with another Indie producer named "Perdido".
2. Pullovers were a British post-punk band based in York, North Yorkshire, United Kingdom. Active during the late 1970s and early 1980s, the band consisted of Dave Astley on lead vocals, Paul Carroll on guitar, Zeph Stewart on guitar, Mick Stewart on drums, and Jock Marston on bass and vocals. The band released a single titled "Peter Pan Pill / Spare Part Surgery" on Supermusic Record Co. in 1980. However, shortly after the release, Pullovers disbanded, marking the end of their brief musical journey.
