1. Pullovers were a band formed in São Paulo, Brazil in 1999. Led by Luiz Venâncio, the band initially performed songs in English, featuring distorted guitars and lively beats. Their debut album, titled "Pullovers Can't Play Covers," was produced by Adriano Cintra, a former member of CSS.
With their collaboration with actress and model Geanine Marques on the album "Carniça," the band gained recognition. However, it was their 2009 release, "Tudo Que Eu Sempre Sonhei" (Everything I've Always Dreamed Of), that brought them widespread acclaim. Departing from their earlier style, the album featured songs inspired by the urban environment of São Paulo, with a shift towards Portuguese lyrics and a different musical approach. It received critical acclaim and was recognized as one of the best independent albums of 2009 by certain media outlets.
The band disbanded in the same year of their breakthrough album's release. Following the breakup, Luiz Venâncio embarked on a new project called "O Cantor Mudo e a Sonora Vaia" in 2013. The Pullovers' legacy remains tied to their energetic performances, distorted guitars, and their experimentation with language and musical styles.
On June 8th in 2023 the Band unexpectedly came back with a new single titled: "Trabalhar na MTV" (Work at MTV) in collaboration with another Indie producer named "Perdido".
2. Pullovers were a British post-punk band based in York, North Yorkshire, United Kingdom. Active during the late 1970s and early 1980s, the band consisted of Dave Astley on lead vocals, Paul Carroll on guitar, Zeph Stewart on guitar, Mick Stewart on drums, and Jock Marston on bass and vocals. The band released a single titled "Peter Pan Pill / Spare Part Surgery" on Supermusic Record Co. in 1980. However, shortly after the release, Pullovers disbanded, marking the end of their brief musical journey.

Abriu a janela pra chuva entrar
Abriu a janela pra chuva entrar
Abriu a janela pra chuva entrar
Abriu a janela pra chuva entrar
Abriu a janela pra chuva entrar
Abriu a janela pra chuva entrar
Abriu a janela pra chuva entrar
The song "O Amor Verdadeiro Não Tem Vista Para O Mar" by Pullovers is a beautiful ballad about true love. The opening line, "Pegou na mão dela, cansado de suar" (He took her hand, tired of sweating), suggests that the singer is tired of the superficiality of day-to-day life and seeks a deeper connection with his loved one. The line "olhando pra novela, já que aqui não tem mar" (watching the soap opera, since there's no sea here) reflects a sense of longing for something more, something bigger and more beautiful than their current surroundings.
However, the singer then realizes that true love doesn't depend on outside factors like the view of the ocean, but rather on the simple act of holding hands. As the song progresses, the mood becomes more celebratory and joyful, with lines like "vestiu a amarela e foi comemorar" (dressed in yellow and went to celebrate). The singer is no longer tethered to his mundane reality but can fully appreciate the beauty and happiness of life with his loved one.
In the final verse, the singer declares his love and commitment, stating "acendeu uma vela, pediu por seu cantar" (lit a candle, praying for his song). He is ready to face the challenges that come with love and to fully embrace it in all its forms.
