Hey Joe
Pussycat Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

The awesome kind of a man
Glad to see you again, hey Joe
No more wastin' your time
For wild women or wine
Like some years ago

You leave nothing to guess
You've been tastin' success, hey Joe
Of all friends that I knew
I kept thinking of you
Since the day you were gone

Hey Joe, I've told you so
Easy come and easy go
And the show's still pullin' strong
As long as time's goin' on it takes us all

Hey Joe, you look away
You're sure you're okay?
Don't know what I say
To held you again

Hey Joe, let's have a ball
You're here after all
We call in the past
I never will, hey Joe

Some are born to change times
Some for nickles and dimes, hey Joe
If I look at my past
I've been one of the last
But with no regrets at all

Hey Joe, I've told you so
Easy come and easy go
And the show's still pullin' strong
As long as time's goin' on it takes us all

Hey Joe, you look away
You're sure you're okay?
Don't know what I say
To held you again

Hey Joe, let's have a ball
You're here after all
We call in the past
I never will, hey Joe

I think I'll always do, hey, Joe
I think I'll always do

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Pussycat's song "Hey Joe" are a tribute to a long-lost friend who has returned after having tasted success in life. The singer is happy to see him again and is reminiscing about the past when they used to waste their time with wild women and wine. However, the friend has left that life behind and has instead focused on achieving his goals. The singer is proud of his friend and pleased that he's found success.

The chorus of the song repeats the phrase "Hey Joe, I've told you so, easy come and easy go, and the show's still pullin' strong, as long as time's goin' on it takes us all." This is a reflection on the unpredictable nature of life and how one never knows what the future holds. It's also a reminder to enjoy life while it lasts and to make the most of every moment.

The second verse reflects on the singer's own life and how he may not have achieved the same level of success as his friend, but he has no regrets. Some people are born to change the world, while others are content with living a simple life. The singer is glad to have his friend back and looks forward to reminiscing about old times.

Overall, the song is a nostalgic tribute to an old friend and a reminder to appreciate the good things in life.

What an amazing group. Great sound. The lead singer's voice is globally supreme. The backup singer on the our left (with long, brunette hair) masters the dance moves every time. She is really good.

@brotherlou-e

I moved my coffee table to the side in my livingroom and are doing the dance with them. Woohoo !
