Part Of Your World
Q;indivi Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I wanna be where the people are
I wanna see
Wanna see 'em dancin'
Walkin' around on those
what's the word feet

Up where they walk
Up where they run
Up where they stay all day in the sun
Wanderin' free
Wish I could be
Part of that world

Look at this stuff
Isn't it neat?
Wouldn't you think my collection's complete?
Wouldn't you think I'm the girl
The girl who has ev'rything.
but I want more

Ready to know what the people know
Ask 'em my questions
And get some answers
What's a fire and why does said
What's the word? burn?

When's it my turn?
Wouldn't I love
Love to explore that shore that above?
Out of the sea
Wish I could be
Part of that world

Flippin' your fins you don't get too far

Strollin' along down a
What's that word?

Flippin' your fins you don't get too far

Strollin' along down a
What's that word?

Up where they walk
Up where they run
Up where they stay all day in the sun
Wanderin' free
Wish I could be
Part of that world

where is it my turn?
Wouldn't I love
Love to explore that shore above?
Out of the sea
Wish I could be
Part of that world

Part of that world

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Q;indivi's song Part of Your World is a wishful expression of the singer's longing to be a part of the human world, to know more about it, and experience it firsthand. In the first verse, the singer talks about her desire to live among human beings, wanting to see them dance and walk on their feet. She thinks of the sun as a source of joy and wants to spend her day wandering free under its warmth. The chorus is the singer's repeated plea to be a part of the human world. In the second verse, she shows interest in human objects, marveling at their idiosyncrasies and wishing to learn more about them. The singer's curiosity reaches its peak as she looks forward to exploring the shore above, leaving behind the life under the sea. The last verse has the singer yearning for her turn to experience the world above, and the chorus repeated again for emphasis.

The lyrics of Part of Your World are about more than just being curious about the world itself; it reflects the human struggle for self-realization, freedom, and individuality. Also, the lyrics became iconic and represented the feminist struggle for women's rights as the song's lyrics became a hymn of all women who felt confined, underestimated, or not taken seriously. The lyrics gained more attention through the Disney movie "The Little Mermaid," where they added more depth and meaning to the singer's story. It became a viral phenomenon and a common reference for standing against societal boundaries and pushing for growth.

I love it when dance versions of my favorite Disney songs actually keep the magic feeling in the song itself. It doesn't sound like a subwoofer short circuited or a tuner malfunctioned. It sounds....kinda perfect for a remix. ^_^
