Be With You
Q.E.D Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

By your side, satisfied
Through and through
Cause I was born to be with you

Wondrously, love can see
So I knew that I was born to be with you

Do I find
Peace of mind
Yes I do
Cause I was born to be with you

All life through
Yes, I was born to be with you

Well, here we are, 40 years of a great track that still just sounds so good. And how cute is Jenny Morris - melting many hearts I'd say.

I 'd forgotten all about this song for the past 33 years simply because radio never continued to play it as classic Aussie Rock anymore. I heard it on MMM (Melbourne) a few days ago in a tribute to Michael Gudinski and totally fell in love with the song again. This was an era when we had great bands that could write and play, and that allowed most of them to go on to solo careers or to have success as session players for other great artist to come before everything took a nose drive. I'm from a Metal background (musician) but as a young teenager started out on Aussie Rock. Like Aussie Rock Metal died in a big way when the 90's hit, we had dozens of bands in every state that could have sustained the industry, lots of lost talent. Yes time moves on and styles change but in both the above mentioned genres it was like a mass culling, a time that will never return but still to this day holds fond memories for those that grew up listening to these styles of music. I still wonder how big my music career would have been if the bottom didn't fall out of the industry, at least I did see some overseas fame but unfortunately no fortune, totally unknow in my own country still to this day, at least I can say I gave it my best shot. Long live Aussie Rock!

Just heard it today for the first time in 40years, took me straight back to the early 80's.

@fixeverything4u

I just discovered this band last week. Wow, well layered pop magic! Never heard of them here in the states in the mid 80s. I'm really enjoying the whole album! Jenny's voice is magnificent!

WOW ๐Ÿ˜‚ BOMBAY ROCK SURFERS PARADISE!!!

@Warpedsmac

Super production value on this track, super playing...Shane Flew's drums are intense, and Jenny Morris' soaring vocal.....sounds so fresh in 2022!!!!

@joh2

Originally recorded by Jennyโ€™s former band, The Crocodiles, in 1980. QED did great work improving it several years later.
