Kuustonen oli aiemmin toiminut Pro Fide gospelyhtyeessä vokalistina. Kuustosen ryhdyttyä panostamaan omaan soolouraansa ja Silvennoisen Kummeli-sketsisarjaan, Q.Stonen toimintaan tuli tauko. Ariel Neulaniemi sai yhtyeen kuitenkin esiintymään järjestämässään Larry Norman -muistoillassa Tavastia-klubilla 27.5.2008. Yhtye esiintyi alkuperäiskokoonpanossaan lisättynä kitaristi Marzi Nymanilla.
Kristillisen rockin isäksi kutsuttu helmikuussa 2008 kuollut Norman tuotti Q.Stonen ensimmäisen levyn. Q.Stone soittaa myös Larry Normanin vuonna 1990 julkaistulla live-albumilla "Live At Flevo".
Kesällä 2013 Q.Stone teki sarjan konsertteja Suomen eri festivaaleilla. Yhtye soitti kiertueella kokoonpanossa Mikko Kuustonen, Heikki Silvennoinen, Mikko Löytty, Sakari Löytty ja Max Tabell. Lisäksi Q.Stonen tuotannosta julkaistiin kokoelmalevy, "The Thrill Is Back".

But let's be honest I don't want that, just want control back
Had a lot to drink so wicked tongues turn to wicked games
I'm trying not to think about it
But this just turns into something else
I'm a savage, I'm weak
I get playful, pull you in
Impatient, I pull out
No strings between you and me
but the skin that cracked under the pressure
And opened itself up to the elements
I'll wait all night, I'll wait all night
Get fucked go blind
We could go all night
I'll wait all night, I'll wait all night
Get high and come over if you want to
You can talk your ego
But you're fucking with a queen
Don't bother trying to impress me
I dare you to lose it all, we all know I'm your best kept secret
It's the tricks of the game that kept you going
But I think you found your equal
I heard your throat sing when you got under my skin
I heard your throat sing when you got under my skin
I heard your throat sing when you got under my skin
I heard your throat sing when you got under my skin
I'll wait all night, I'll wait all night
Get fucked go blind
We could go all night
I'll wait all night, I'll wait all night
Get high and come over if you want to
I'm always trying to be something more
I could have done this all on my own
I don't need you, I just wanted some more
I don't need you, I just wanted some more
I'll wait all night, I'll wait all night
Get fucked go blind
We could go all night
I'll wait all night, I'll wait all night
Get high and come over if you want to
The lyrics in Q.Stone's song "The River" are about a complicated relationship that is lacking in control and boundaries. The singer is telling their partner that they need space, but in reality, they want to regain control of the relationship. The mention of alcohol suggests that the relationship is messy and unpredictable, leading to "wicked games" being played. The bridge of the song describes a physical encounter that took place by a river, where there was no emotional attachment between the two except for the physical attraction they had. The skin cracking under pressure and opening up to the elements is a metaphor for the vulnerability that comes with being physically intimate with someone. The singer admits that they can be both savage and weak, playful and impatient, which further emphasizes the complexity of the relationship.
The chorus of the song repeats the line "I'll wait all night, I'll wait all night," which suggests that the singer is willing to wait for their partner, even if it means waiting all night. The lines "Get fucked go blind, We could go all night, Get high and come over if you want to" are openly sexual and indicate that the singer is willing to engage in a physical relationship with their partner, regardless of the emotional complications.
Overall, the lyrics of "The River" explore the intricacies and complexities of a relationship that lacks boundaries and control. The singer is unable to resist the physical attraction they have to their partner, even though it leads to emotional turmoil.
