Long Way from Home
QSP Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Bought a one way ticket
On a train
Beadin' out of this one horse town
Ain't too sure where I'm goin'
I see the faces
Of the children living out on the streets
Lord knows I'm thankful
I had my family to care for me
'Cause everyday now
This road gets longer on by the mile
My life rolls onward
My soul grows tired

Nowhere to run to, Lord
Nowhere to hide
Ain't got no money
Man, I gave up on pride
So where are you going? Tell me
I'd like to know
Cause I'm a long way away from home

Lonely feelings
Lord, they lay by my side
Most every night, I don't know why
They seem to haunt me
I feel the traces
Of the memories etched upon my soul
As my nights grow longer
And my days grow old

Nowhere to run to, lady
Nowhere to hide
Ain't got no money
Man, I gave up on pride
So where are you going? Tell me
I'd like to know
'Cause I'm a long way away from home
Lord, I'm a long way from home

Lonely feelings
Lord, they lay by my side
Most every night, I don't know why
They seem to haunt me
I feel the traces
Of the memories etched upon my soul
As my nights grow longer
And my days grow old

Nowhere to run to, lady
Nowhere to hide
Ain't got no money
Man, I gave up on pride
So where are you going? Tell me
I'd like to know
'Cause I'm a long way away from home

Yeah, I'm a long way from home
Lord, I'm a long way form home

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of QSP’s song “Long Way from Home” tell the story of a person who has left their hometown behind, unsure of where they’re going, but in search of a new beginning. The opening lines describe the singer buying a one-way ticket on a train, leaving behind a small town they no longer want to be in. They reflect on the faces of the children living on the streets, grateful to have had a family to care for them. As they continue on their journey, the road seems to grow longer and longer while their soul grows tired.

The chorus brings to light the loneliness and desperation of their situation. They have nowhere to run, no one to turn to, and no money left; they’ve given up on pride as well. The singer wonders where others are going in the same circumstances, for they too are a long way from home. Their lonely feelings haunt them every night, and memories they carry with them seem to be etched upon their soul.

Overall, the song paints a poignant picture of someone who has left everything behind and embarked on a journey without knowing the destination. They are full of uncertainty, fear, and loneliness, but also a sense of hope and determination.

@DapperDanLovesYou

what I LOVE about your channel? Your different hand sizes. Even being a guy, my hands are much closer to Frankie's hand size. So getting that scale difference between your hands really shows me how the knife will "look" and feel to different people

@paulhelm5384

" I like it, I just wish it was a completely different design ". Hilarious!!!

@cocabandi

A modern traditional with stainless steel and a lockback - Nice! An elegant workhorse indeed. Add a Kwik thumbstud and it's set to go.

@happykt

Personally I love this knife and just bought one. I think its sleek and handsome looking. I am a female and own over 100 fixed and folding knives.

Yes, Arthur Brehm is the German designer of it, who has a Youtube Channel (also called Arthur Brehm). He does his videos sometimes in German and sometimes in English. :)
