Life wasn't always easy for the self proclaimed "Steven King of Hip Hop". He was an only child in a single parent household and had to fend for himself most of his childhood. He always maintained a close relationship with his mother who was a drug addict for most of his young life. At the age of 9 he spent time in a pediatric mental hospital when teachers found he spent most of his time in class making disturbing drawings instead of classwork. Throughout childhood and into his teenage years the kid who would later be known as "Q Strange" was an outcast. Never getting ahead in his studies and rarely attending classes Q fell in love with the art of hip hop. Even at the age of 12 he was penning verses rather then school essays. Moving around and changing schools it was hard for him to keep friendships outside of his own family. He recorded his first demo at 14 and knew at that moment that this was what he wanted to do with his life. At the young age of 16 Q lost all he had in life and was forced to support himself when his mother passed away due to a drug overdose. Virtually homeless depending on the kindness of friends and family he bounced from place to place doing whatever he could to surivive. Q was heading down the wrong path getting arrested from charges ranging from shoplifting to felony assault before he was 18. It was at this time he hooked up with a local hip hop collective of MC's DJ's and Producers knowns as "3rd floor productions". His friendship with DJ JD would be one that would ultimately change his direction in life. Although the group was low on funds and had limited studio equipment JD acted as a mentor to Q (known as Mista Jinx at the time) and taught him the art of beatmaking and song structure. Recording with the group as well as solo projects he performed shows and ruled the battle circut until the crew dispanded around 1997. Taking a break from music and trying to struggle with the everyday stress of being broke and working hard he returned to the music scene this time with a whole new darker sound and persona. Q recorded Murder Kill in '97 and locally released a bootleg tape with a dark hip-hop sound and graphic horror subject matter that garnered a huge response from a diverse group of music fans. As word of mouth spread, some fans in the midwest dedicated a website to Q Strange introducing him to the world. In 1999 Q released another bootleg entitled "Decayed Thoughts" which was well recieved and earned him enough money to release his professional debut "Creation to ExeQtion" in 2000. The concept album which was an audio horror "movie" with each song connecting to the next telling a chilling sci-fi horror tale of a deranged serial killer developed a cult following and soon Q Strange was known all over the globe as the next big thing in the dark underworld of horrorcore. In 2003 after several deals gone bad with different record labels Q independently released his second album "Strangeland". This album brought the murderous style that his fans had come to know by now, but also balanced out with more "traditional" hip-hop songs and emotional tracks proving that there was more to Q Strange than just a gimmick. Both albums moved thousands of units with no distribution outside of mail order and consignment deals with various merchants, and was widely bootlegged all over the world. That in addition to extreme high energy live shows earned Q a huge fanbase, and got the attention of the music industry as different labels showed intrest in signing him. In late 2004 Q Strange inked a deal with Mad Insanity Records joining the ranks of underground legends such as Ganxsta NIP, Mastamind (NATAS), and Flatlinerz along with other highly respected up and comers such as Bay Area horrorcore artist and CEO Mars. Mad Insanity will re-release the first two albums with proper distribution making the discs easier for fans to find, and release a new highly anticipated album that will be sure to make waves in the music industry. Q Strange and Mad Insanity Records's vision is to make the world recognize the darkside of underground hip-hop known to its cult following as horrorcore.

The family with locked doors might have had a kid with severe autism + other diagnosis or a grandparent with dementia. Still crazy and dangerous if a fire broke out. And weird not to inform a guest (even a child) if that was the case.

My mom is a well loved local practitioner who became a functioning alcoholic after my ex-friend’s father sued her for reasons that are kind of hard to explain without a chart. My dad is an electrician but his family has lived here for several generations so he’s a bit of a socialite.

Behind doors they’re both pretty verbally abusive and often get into fights because of my mother’s drinking and the attitude she takes on while intoxicated. She nearly burned the house down over the summer trying to make a toaster waffle because she was so drunk and screamed at me the entire time I was cleaning up bc I was “doing it wrong” even though I was googling everything to take proper procedure. I only had a cheese stick for dinner that night because I just couldn’t take being awake anymore.

Everyone thinks I’m like the nicest person and just like happy all the time when really I routinely go through suicidal thoughts and flunked college bc of how severely lonely I was while living in the dorm with roommates who barely acknowledged me. I often think bad things about people and feel awful for it.

My brother was class president and has been in front of the school board a few times for this and academics. I worry for him but I don’t want to pick his brain.

Oh. I got this. So, we were living in a tiny townhouse when I was little. There was another family who had a very similar situation to us, when they got pregnant with their second kid, they started looking for a new place. When that happened to our family, not long after, we moved to the same town. We lost the daily contact we used to have, they became popular cause they drank a lot, partied a lot, had a pool, etc. Well, on the surface, they looked like they had everything going good. Then the company the guy was working for got bought out. They started doing random drug tests, and though it was never a secret, he suddenly had to stop partying as much. I don't believe he fully stopped, but he cut way down. She didn't. She kept getting trashed regularly, ended up cheating on her husband of 30 years, and torpedoed their marriage. Three decades down the drain, because she couldn't slow down. From what I know, their kids took it hard, and now their family is broken. These were the people we looked up to. They looked like they somehow had everything. Guess not.

As someone who has at one point been held hostage in a home invasion plus had 3 other break ins in 2 different locations
I lock every door because thieves usually break in at the front of the house
To get to my room they will have to break down 3 doors
Giving me enough time to either escape or call for help

I'm not doing anything weird just because my doors are locked. I actually have some family members that I'm trying to keep out, they know what I have and feel like it should be theirs. Some of it is theirs but the items are too valuable and the people are too broken to take care of them. Most of them are in rehab these days getting better and good for them I'm so happy. With that being said I'm not going to be the window of temptation the doors will unlock when I know I can trust them

My Great-great-grandparents live a perfect life, even if most of the kids/grandkids have drug, prison, or money problems. It's fine though, we all collectively hate two of the prison convicts, and we druggies are well moderated by this point so no real bad points anymore.
