Circles
Qissmet Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

You find yourself
Going round and round
You wonder, is there a solution? I don?t know
Why can?t he see why his life just seems to be circling?
Again and again and again and again repeat.

Tell me why he feels so guilty?
Knowing he should not react this way
He won?t admit to why he?s drinking
And every helping hand he turns away
But if he makes the same mistakes, over and over again
Why can?t he see why his life just seems to be circling?
And he says to himself

I don?t want to go in circles
I don?t want to keep on coming back
To the same conclusion, I?m standing
Here with no solution yet again, (repeat)
Again and Again and again and again repeat

Tell me why she feels so crazy
Her heartbeat is an irregular pace
She knows she shouldn?t get close to him
Then why can?t she just fight and run away
But if she makes the same mistakes

Over and over again why can?t she see
Why her life just seems to be circling,
And she says to herself

I don?t want to go in circles
I don?t want to keep on coming back
To the same conclusion, I?m standing
Here with no solution yet again, (repeat)
Again and Again and again and again repeat

Im getting dizzy thinkin about it
A problem that just seems to never end
The situations upside down your,
Spinning all around and around,
Again and again and again and again

I don?t want to go in circles
I don?t want to keep on coming back
To the same conclusion, I?m standing

Here with no solution yet again, (repeat)
Again and Again and again and again repeat

Overall Meaning

Qissmet's song "Circles" is about the frustration of life's repeating patterns that seem to have no solution. The lyrics describe the feeling of being trapped in a cycle of negative behavior and emotions while knowing that there must be a way out. The first verse introduces the theme with the lines "Going round and round / You wonder, is there a solution? I don't know / Why can't he see why his life just seems to be circling?" The verses then alternate between the perspectives of a man and a woman, both struggling with their own cycles of problematic behavior. They each acknowledge their own mistakes and the negative impacts of their actions on their lives: "Tell me why he feels so guilty? / Knowing he should not react this way / He won't admit to why he's drinking / And every helping hand he turns away." Towards the end of the song, the lyrics describe the overwhelming feeling of being stuck in a cycle with no end in sight: "I'm getting dizzy thinkin about it / A problem that just seems to never end / The situation's upside down, you're / Spinning all around and around, / Again and again and again and again."
