Bijou
Queen Lyrics
You and me
We are destined
You'll agree
To spend the rest of our lives
With each other
The rest of our days
Like two lovers
Forever yeah, forever
My bijou

"Bijou", released on Queen's 1991 album Innuendo was an idea shared by Freddie Mercury and Brian May to construct a song "inside-out" (having guitar doing the verses and the vocal doing the break). Mercury put the chords, title and lyrics, and the two of them worked on the guitar parts. Mercury sang the first line and then May transferred the melody to his Red Special guitar. The song was finished without any input from Taylor or Deacon.
The idea was not new and already used by Yes on their song "Soon". In 2008, Queen + Paul Rodgers performed this song in their shows of the Rock the Cosmos Tour, with May playing guitar to Mercury's pre-recorded vocals.

Usually in a (rock) song, somewhere in the middle the singing is interrupted by a guitar solo. But here the guitar solo IS the song, and somewhere in the middle it is interrupted by singing.

Just when you think that Brian can't break your heart any more with that guitar, then Freddie comes in in the middle and breaks it some more with those lyrics....

@Anthony English In my opinion, among all guitar players ever, nobody can top Brian May in composing guitar melodies. May is not my favorite guitarist, but I see him as the greatest of all times.
