You Don't Fool Me
Queen Lyrics

Oh oh

You don't fool me, you don't fool me
You don't fool me, you don't fool me
You don't fool me

You don't fool me, you don't fool me
You don't fool me, you don't fool me
You don't fool me
Da da da da dah
Da da da dah
Da da dah ah

You don't fool me those pretty eyes
That sexy smile you don't fool me, uh
You don't rule me you're no surprise
You're telling lies hey, you don't fool me
Mmm, mama said be careful of that girl
Mama said you know that she's no good
Mama said be cool, don't you be no fool
Yup bup ba ba ba ba da da da dah
You don't fool me
You don't fool me
You don't fool me, she'll take you (you don't fool me) break you (you don't fool me) and break you
Sooner or later you'll be playing by her rules

Baby you don't fool me, yeah

You don't fool me, you don't have to say 'don't mind'
You don't have to teach me things I know
Sooner or later you'll be playing by her rules
Oh (fool you) oh (rule you) she'll take you (take you)
And break you (break you) yeah

Mama said be cool
Mama said she'll take you for a fool
She'll take you and break you
Ba ba ba ba ba bah bah bah da da dah dah dah

Na na na na nah
Na na na nah
Na na nah ah
You don't fool me (na na na na nah)
(You don't fool me, you don't fool me) na na na na nah
(You don't fool me, you don't fool me) na na na nah
(You don't fool me, you don't fool me) na na na nah

(You don't fool me, you don't fool me) na na na na nah
(You don't fool me, you don't fool me) na na na nah
(You don't fool me, you don't fool me) na na na nah
(You don't fool me, you don't fool me) na na na na nah
(You don't fool me, you don't fool me) na na na nah

interesting background info about this song
This song was pretty much constructed from bits and pieces of vocals recorded by Freddy, and put together to make a song out of it by producer Richard Davids. This is explained in some video where Brian or Roger explain this. It is also mentioned onthe wiki page about this song.
I think there's another slightly noticible thing that is interesting about this song are freddy's vocals of the chorus, where he repeatedly sings "You don't fool me". I believe this part to be entirely constructured from 1 and only 1 recording of freddy singing "you don't fool me", instead of actually having recorded it himself in multiple pitches throughout the chorus, to make it match each progressing chord.
I think line of the chorus "you don't fool me' was cut out of the verse at 1:29 and changed in pitch to match the different chords in the chorus

The reason I believe this is because in the whole chorus, the parts where te pitch is slightly higher (second, third and fouth time on 2nd and 3rd chord of chorus) it is also sung at a faster speed This makes me believe it was just 1 sentence of "you don't fool me" that was then played in a higher pitch to match the pitch of of the second and third chord, and as a result of the increased pitch, also ended up with a increased speed. The original part where I believe it's taken from at 1:29 is even lower in pitch and also speed.
Back in te day when this song was put together, it was not possible yet to change pitch without changing speed . It all pretty much worked like a venyl single or album (33 1⁄3, 45, 78 etc) where you had to adapt te speed of the player to match the record. Otherwise it would be fast and sound like the chickmunks were singing it or slow and very low piched. So higher pitch would be correlated with increased speed and lower pitch with lower speed.
However, since freddy's voice only had to be adapted to be a litle bit higher in pitch, the speed that he sings 'you don't fool me in te chorus is played back at an increased speed to make it match each progressing chord.
If this method as I described was not really the way this song was recorded, it would not make sense that freddy exactly would have sung these exact 3 'you don't fool me's faster than the one at te start and end of the chorus (1st and 4th chord of chorus, 1st and 5th time singing te senetnce). Exactly the higher pitched ones are the faster/higher speed versions of te same sentence. And also, why would there be an even slower ýou don't fool me' in the start of te chorus at 1:29 that was both slower ánd higher piched?
The wiki that explained this song was put together further fits in te pattern that this song was merely a construction afterwards rather than a song that was just recorded after freddy had died. If one listens to te chorus, one can also hear that most of the melodies that play in the chorus are actually not the vocals, but rather mostly instrumenst. Freddy's "you dont fool me" is only vocal melody part of the chorus, and the other sounds (of which I do not know the name - some keyboard sound) are the playing a melody to make fill in te gaps and make it an interesting whole.

"You don'fool me" in VERSE (1:29) normal speed, I believe the actual only real and non altered recording of this sentence

1st "You don'fool me" in chous - slighly faster speed than in the verse to increase pitch a bit
2st "You don'fool me" in chous - even faster speed than in the verse to increase pitch even more
3st "You don'fool me" in chous - much faster than in the verse to increase pitch the most
4st "You don'fool me" in chous - much faster than in the verse to increase pitch the most
5st "You don'fool me" in chous - slighly faster speed than in the verse to increase pitch a bit (same as 1st one in verse)

The difference between te 4th and 5th time he sings it in the chorus are the most easiy if you wan to hear te difference in speed, because they are right next to eachother, and have quite a big difference in speed.

...so yeah, just my 2 cents about the chorus recordings so far..
Does anyone know from any sort of offical souce If I'm right about this? Thanks!
