They sent him the RAW tracks cause Freddie's voice isn't sped up slightly and maybe that ignited something in Wyclef's soul....he's Haitian like my mom's people. I love Haitians.

"Bites the dust" refers to lying on the ground with the dust flying up in your face. Then you "bite" the dust. As Ellie A already explained it means to fall, die or be defeated in some way. You can use it in many different terms, but the one who bites the dust is the defeated one - whether it be physically, mentally or otherwise.

O Warner...haven't you ever heard of comedy??! Why put a negative view onto something that is pure comedy? You just don't 'get it' unfortunately. Dont u see, this is in a wax museum & the wax model of Freddie, who is so adored they made a wax figure in tribute to him, then it goes missing from the museum!!! What does the fact that it came out after Freddie died have anything to do with it? So have hundreds, no, thousands of videos came out after his death! Wyclef adored Freddie, I remember well when this video first came out... everybody LOVED it & it was a huge hit ! Why anyone would purposely misinterpret the intent is beyond me.
You are entitled to yr opinion of course. However, This video was & always will be Wyclef's tribute to a musical genius whom he respected & emulated.
Take a chill pill & watch the video now that you know it was a comedic tribute to one of WJ's idols. I don't know how anyone can misinterpret such a comedic little story about a security guard trying to find the wax figure of one of his favorite idols... silly boy!!!

The whole point of this song is to pay tribute to Freddie Mercury. If people didn't do covers/remakes these songs would slowly die. As a kid this was my first exposure to Queen. Later on I started buying Queen albums thanks to this song. I prefer the original of course, but I like listening to this as a fun throwback.
