Formed by singer Katie Jane Garside and guitarist Crispin Gray, they had previously collaborated in the celebrated but short-lived band Daisy Chainsaw. Garside and Gray did not cross paths again until 1999 when they formed Queen Adreena. An album, Taxidermy, soon followed in 2000. Pete Howard, the last drummer to play with The Clash, joined just before the band signed with Rough Trade for their second album, 2002’s Drink Me, featuring the lead single "Pretty Like Drugs." Queen Adreena toured extensively in the UK and Europe. Their third album was released in 2005: The Butcher and the Butterfly.
Ride a Cock Horse, an album of mostly unreleased material from the Taxidermy era, was only available from MySpace www.myspace.com/queenadreenafrance in 2007.
In 2008, Queen Adreena released their final album Djin in Japan with a UK release the following year. They disbanded in 2009 due to Katie Jane Garside pursuing other projects.
Seven Sins
Queen Adreena Lyrics

I bent for the nail and I came to receive it
I fed them all but I ---
I lay there for days in this river ---
So knock me to the floor, baby (seven sins)
Your number's at my door lately (seven sins)
Seven sins tomorrow maybe (seven sins)
Knock me to he floor
He read me the law as he ripped up the pages
I knelt there before him, I knelt there for ages
I beg for more but I ---
I lay there all day in this river connector
So knock me to the floor, baby (seven sins)
Your number's at my door lately (seven sins)
Seven sins tomorrow maybe (seven sins)
Knock me to he floor
Knock me to he floor
Beaten this path that is caused by his mother
I cry to the lover on the cross of his brother
So knock me to the floor, baby (seven sins)
Your number's at my door lately (seven sins)
Seven sins tomorrow maybe (seven sins)
Knock me to he floor
Knock me to he floor
Knock me to he floor (seven sins)
Knock me to he floor (seven sins)
Knock me to he floor (seven sins)
Knock me to he floor (seven sins)
Knock me to he floor
The lyrics to Queen Adreena's song Seven Sins speak of a person who is being accused of something they did not do, and are being punished for it. The person is constantly being knocked down and beaten, and begs for more punishment. The song speaks of seven sins, which could refer to the seven deadly sins in Christianity: pride, greed, lust, envy, gluttony, wrath, and sloth. The person in the song may be experiencing punishment for committing one or more of these sins.
The lyrics also mention a river, which could represent the idea of being washed away or cleansed of one's sins. The person in the song has been lying in this river for days, perhaps trying to cleanse themselves of their sins or seeking forgiveness. The mention of a lover on the cross of his brother could refer to Jesus Christ and the idea of forgiveness in Christianity.
Overall, the lyrics of Seven Sins tell a story of a person who is facing punishment for something they did not do, and seeking punishment for their sins. The song is dark and haunting, with a sense of desperation and pain.
