Raised in Ypsilanti, Michigan, R&B vocalist Queen Naija first became known as a contestant on multiple seasons of American Idol in the early 2010s. Following that, she became famous as an internet personality for her YouTube channel Chris & Queen. On the channel, Naija (also known as Queen Sails) and her husband Chris Sails would post various humorous videos with an emphasis on elaborate pranks. At the very end of 2017, amid some serious relationship issues, she decided to focus on her music again.
In 2018 she signed a contract with the record label 'Capitol Records', thus starting her solo career. Her debut single, "Medicine", was released in June 2018 and reached 45th place on the Billboard Hot 100. Three weeks later came the second single, "Karma", which came in 63rd position in the standings. An EP titled "Queen" Naija came out on July 27 and debuted in 26th place on the Billboard 200.
Good Morning Text
Queen Naija Lyrics

Chills when I saw your name
Used to talk all night long
Now things are not the same
I used to lay in your bed
While you used to play in my head, yeah
We were the best of friends
I'm second guessing this
Yeah, yeah
'Cause I don't get that good morning text no more
I don't get no kiss when I walk out the door
Baby, we was so deep in love, what happened to us?
Guess all I really wanna know is
Do I love you more?
Then you love me 'cause it was way better before
Do you still love me?
I wanna know
Do I love you more?
Than you love me
'Cause it was way better before
Do you still love me?
I wanna know
Do I love you more?
(Do I love you more-more, do I love you more-more?)
Do I love you more?
(More-more, do I love you more-more?)
I be up late reminiscing
Never had to beg for your attention
Gotta do the most for a mention
When we make love, only time you say you miss it, yeah
I try so hard to ignore my heart
I thought it was all in my mind
But you know my intuition never lies
Yeah, intuition never lies
'Cause I don't get that good morning text no more
I don't get no kiss when I walk out the door
Baby, we was so deep in love, what happened to us?
Guess all I really wanna know is
Do I love you more?
Then you love me 'cause it was way better before
Do you still love me?
I wanna know
Do I love you more?
Then you love me 'cause it was way better before
Do you still love me?
I wanna know
Do I love you more?
(Do I love you more-more, do I love you more-more?)
Do I love you more?
(More-more, do I love you more-more?)
I miss the old you and I miss the old us
Can we get that back, am I asking too much?
I miss the old you and I miss the old us
Can we get that back, am I asking too much?
Do I love you more?
Then you love me 'cause it was way better before
Do you still love me?
I wanna know
Do I love you more?
(Do I love you more-more, do I love you more-more?)
Do I love you more?
(More-more, do I love you more-more?)
In "Good Morning Text," Queen Naija reflects on a past relationship and the changes that have occurred. She reveals that they used to have a deep connection, spending all night talking and enjoying each other's company, but things have since changed. She misses the little things like getting a good morning text or a kiss goodbye, and wonders if her love for him is stronger than his for her. She questions whether they can get back to how things used to be, but acknowledges that it may be too much to ask for.
The lyrics explore the theme of nostalgia and the feeling of longing for what once was. Queen Naija highlights the importance of small gestures of affection, which can often fall by the wayside as relationships progress. The chorus emphasizes her desire to know if her love is reciprocated and her fear that it is not. The line "I try so hard to ignore my heart" speaks to the inner conflict of wanting to hold on to the past while simultaneously acknowledging that things have changed.
Overall, "Good Morning Text" is a poignant and relatable exploration of the complexities of love and the pain of letting go.
