Raised in Ypsilanti, Michigan, R&B vocalist Queen Naija first became known as a contestant on multiple seasons of American Idol in the early 2010s. Following that, she became famous as an internet personality for her YouTube channel Chris & Queen. On the channel, Naija (also known as Queen Sails) and her husband Chris Sails would post various humorous videos with an emphasis on elaborate pranks. At the very end of 2017, amid some serious relationship issues, she decided to focus on her music again.
In 2018 she signed a contract with the record label 'Capitol Records', thus starting her solo career. Her debut single, "Medicine", was released in June 2018 and reached 45th place on the Billboard Hot 100. Three weeks later came the second single, "Karma", which came in 63rd position in the standings. An EP titled "Queen" Naija came out on July 27 and debuted in 26th place on the Billboard 200.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Sick of puttin' all these egotistical niggas on a pedestal
All up in a woman's business, worry 'bout your revenue
Always think you know it all, you don't know what's best for you
Why you scared of therapy? Probably can't accept the truth
Flashin' money like we can't see all them ones
Always at the club, but can't pick up your son
Fuckin' all them hoes, can't even make 'em cum
Let's talk about it
Let's talk about it (let's talk about it)
Let's talk about it (let's talk about it)
Let's talk about it (let's talk about it)
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Won't put a ring on her finger, but put a baby up in her
Another child in a broken home
'Cause you afraid of commitment (let's talk about it)
Still clingin' to your mama
Swear that you so grown, but let her handle all your drama
You ain't never got to grow up, that's your problem
Puttin' up a front to hide behind your traumas
Takin' all your anger out on me won't solve 'em
Had a real one by your side, but you just lost one
Let's talk about it (ooh-ooh, oh-oh)
Let's talk about it (let's talk about it, baby)
Let's talk about it (let's talk about it, baby, baby)
Let's talk about it
(Let's talk about it, baby, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Oh, ooh yeah (let's talk about it)
Since you wanna go there, let's talk about it
(Since you wanna go there, I can go there too)
Since you wanna go there, let's talk about it
(Tell you about yourself, somebody had to tell ya)
Since you wanna go there, let's talk about it
(Ain't tryna hit below the belt, no, but you ain't got no room to talk)
Since you wanna go there, let's talk about it
(Pointin' out a woman's flaws, I'm just givin' it to you raw)
In "Let's Talk About It" by Queen Naija, the lyrics address the frustration and disappointment the singer feels towards a man who displays egotistical behavior and fails to take responsibility for his actions. The song highlights the imbalance of power in their relationship and the harmful effects it has on both the man and the woman involved.
The lyrics begin by criticizing the egotistical nature of the man, suggesting that he puts himself above others, particularly women. The singer expresses her annoyance at him meddling in women's affairs and urges him to focus on his own financial growth instead. She implies that he thinks he knows everything but is incapable of making good decisions for himself. The mention of therapy indicates that the singer believes he needs professional help to confront and accept the truth about himself.
The frustration continues in the second verse as the singer addresses the man's lack of commitment. She accuses him of not being willing to marry or fully commit to his partner, yet he continues to father children. This pattern results in broken homes and a fear of adult responsibilities. The singer also calls out his dependence on his mother to handle his problems, highlighting his immaturity and inability to handle his own issues.
Overall, the lyrics of "Let's Talk About It" criticize a man's egotistical behavior, lack of commitment, and unwillingness to take responsibility. The song highlights the negative effects of such behavior on relationships and the importance of open communication to address these issues.
