Out Of Focus
Quick and the Dead Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

We've got the right to run away
And burn this city down
We never thought that we would pay
But we run this in the ground

We see problems
We just won't tell where
They keep us up all night
(They keep us up all night)

We focused all our hearts on one (Our hearts as one)
We will not sleep until we're done
We fight our enemies with hate
That's why we pray
To take our hatred away

We act like everything is fine
Well we know that everything is not
We act like we will heal in time
And we can't if we keep falling down

We've been focused
Only on this one thing
We will try to fight
(We will try to fight)

[Chorus]

Come take this hatred away
We act like everything is fine
Well we know that everything is not
We act like we will heal in time
But we will

[Chorus]

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Quick and the Dead's song Out of Focus seem to be focusing on the theme of destruction among youth. The song's lyrics imply a feeling of hopelessness among young people and their tendency to run away from problems instead of facing them directly. The lyrics, "We've got the right to run away and burn this city down. We never thought that we would pay, but we run this in the ground," suggest that the youth feel they are entitled to do whatever they want without thinking about the consequences.

The lyrics also seem to focus on the power of hate and its ability to unite people. The lines, "We fight our enemies with hate, that's why we pray to take our hatred away," reveal that hate has become a way for young people to deal with their problems. These lines suggest that hate has become a coping mechanism for them, and they are aware of its destructive potential.

The song also touches on the theme of resilience and the ability to overcome difficulties. The lyrics, "We act like we will heal in time, but we will," suggest that despite the youth's struggles, they still believe they will eventually overcome them. The song is a call to action for young people to face their problems head-on instead of running away from them.

Great explanation! I think this is the most connected I have felt to any workout video. I have 3 kids that love to watch/distract/join. Having them involved can be frustrating at times, but normally very motivating. My younger two ride on my back during the push-ups sometimes.

Well thank you very much! I’m glad you include your kiddos in you training time. This is a way of life for me too and having my kids/family in the gym with me is great. Thanks for watching.

Thank you for sharing. I love the minimalist training like this. All you need to stay fit. Are both these protocols in the book? I like to try the 10/2 protocol.
I cant have access to the book here.
Do you progress to heavier Bell/push ups when it starts feeling easy?

Thanks again and have a wonderful holiday. Stay healthy.
