The lyrics of Quilapayún's song, Relato V, chronicle the violent confrontation between a group of workers and a military general. The general arrives at the scene with his soldiers and ametralladoras (machine guns) and proceeds to address the workers, accusing them of being traitors, thieves, and murderers. He demands that they leave the area and warns them that if they refuse, they will feel the consequences. "El Rucio," a brave worker, responds to the general's threats by standing up to him and declaring that the workers will not be intimidated. He tells the general that they will continue to fight for their rights, even if it means risking their lives. The general, infuriated by this challenge to his authority, shoots "El Rucio" and gives the order for his soldiers to open fire on the unarmed workers.
