Elements
R&ber Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Yeah, yeah
Yeah, I'm in the element
Who's to say it'll get much better
Yeah, when you've got everything
Who's to say it'll last forever

I'm on the beach, sun in my hands
Rays on the waves dancing like diamonds
Looking for peace here in the sand
Sounds of the world suddenly silent

Streetlights are on again
Don't think I wanna come back in
I need to stay right where I stand
And wait for the sky to bend

Yeah, I'm in the element
Who's to say it'll get much better
Yeah, when you've got everything
Who's to say it'll last forever

I need to live this
Not be a witness
Yeah, I'm in the element
Oh, I'm in the element

I'm on the scene sailing away
Chasing the light on the horizon
I can't believe everyone stayed
Now I'm alone far from the island

This time I won't forget
Lighthouse can't call me in
I'd rather stay out on the waves
And wait for the swell to end

And it's in my hands again

Yeah, I'm in the element
Who's to say it'll get much better
Yeah, when you've got everything
Who's to say it'll last forever

I need to live this
Not be a witness
Yeah, I'm in the element
Oh, I'm in the element

I'm unaware, don't know when I'll be here again
I'm a wanderer, it's my only road
Won't go home 'til I own what I came here for (I came here for)

Yeah, make me feel like my life ain't over
Yeah, make me feel like I'm getting closer

Yeah, I'm in the element
Who's to say it'll get much better
Yeah, When you've got everything
Who's to say it'll last forever

I need to live this
Not be a witness
Yeah, I'm in the element
Oh, I'm in the element

I need to live this
Not be a witness

Yeah, I'm in the element
Oh, I'm in the element

Overall Meaning

In R&B singer H.E.R.'s song "Elements", the artist reflects on the fleeting nature of happiness and the importance of living in the moment. The lyrics are imbued with a sense of perspective, with the singer looking out at the beauty of the world around her and realizing that nothing in life is guaranteed to last forever.

The chorus of the song repeats the phrase "Yeah, I'm in the element," which could refer to being in a particular state of mind or in the right place at the right time. It could also refer to being in touch with one's instincts and feeling in sync with the environment around them.

Throughout the lyrics, the singer describes being on a beach and feeling the warmth of the sun on her skin. She is disconnected from the noise of the world and simply takes in the beauty of her surroundings. She is also "sailing away" and "chasing the light on the horizon", suggesting that she is on a journey of self-discovery and exploration.

I'm turning 50 in a few days. I still do sets.
Mostly Techno / DarkTech. I was a part of the scene in europe ever since Liaisons Dangereuses popped out Los Ninos del Parque in, I think, 1982.
The 1990's were hard in Europe, so many raves, so many festivals, even the Maydays... Don't really know how I made it through alive.
I really love the sound of todays Techno -it really evolved into some "right in the face" stuff.
Today, my daughter is 18 and loves to listen to daddy's sets.
Can't really say I'd see where I did something wrong.
No regrets.

Rave on my friends.

I’m 51 years old. Age is just a number. This music reminds of my younger years. Spending nights in places like the cherry moon. That’s why I like her music. Keep on moving😊
