Yeah
Boo-boo-bah-da
Yeah, yeah, yeah

Lucky
Lucky you belong to me
You know who would kill to be
Lucky I ain't intervene
Lucky, yeah
Lucky that I let it go
Lucky I ain't on patrol
You know how my petty go
Lucky, uh
Lucky I ain't crazy
Just a little maybe
Ooh, that's how you made it

Don't you ever forget that you're lucky
Lucky I got eyes for you
Nobody could block the view
You know I got options too
Lucky (lucky)
That I ain't get my payback
Lucky we go way back
Lucky that I'm way back
It's funny, yeah
It's funny now you want it
I'm what you always wanted
You lucky that you got it, oh

Don't you ever forget that you're lucky
(Mmh, hm-hm-hm)
Yeah, mmh, na-na-na, mmh-mhm

Lucky that we more than just an interlude
Lucky I spend time with you
Lucky I be in the mood
Lucky
Lucky that I'm coming soon
Feeling like a honeymoon
Ooh, we better get a room (yeah, yeah, yeah)
Ooh, we better get a room (mmh)
So lucky

Don't ever forget, oh
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Lucky one

Oh, oh, oh, oh, hey, yeah
Alright

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to the song "Lucky" by R.E.M. and Thom Yorke are about a person who feels fortunate to be with their significant other. The first verse suggests that the subject of the song is lucky to belong to the singer, who enjoys being in control and could have intervened in the subject's life if they wanted to. However, the singer chose to let things go and not act on their own petty desires. The chorus emphasizes that the subject should remember how lucky they are to be with the singer.

The second verse acknowledges that the singer has other options and could have sought revenge, but instead chose to be with the subject. The singer emphasizes that the two of them have a history together and it's lucky that they're still close. The bridge reminds the subject that they are lucky to be more than just a temporary fling and that the singer is invested in spending time with them. The song ends on a playful note, suggesting that they should go find a room.

Overall, the song depicts a relationship where one person holds more power or control than the other, but both parties recognize how lucky they are to be together.

Michael Stipe is a class act, he learnt all of the words, which so many people don't do and they stutter when covering a song, shows he has total respect for Radiohead, and is a class man.

@JonathanRodd

Its so weird hearing this song with someone else's voice. Thom's voice is so distinct, and such a signature part of all Radiohead songs. That being said, Michael Stipe did an amazing job.

@charliefarrell4888

Give Warren Haynes’ version a listen.

@csestini

Can't even imagine how happy Thom must've been to have one of his favorite musicians singing his song.

@debjones60

Okami No..... Thom must have been in heaven and it shows on his face. From one Icon to another. Incredible performance . 👌🏽 it so suited Michael’s voice.

@giasieboldofski8192

Kurt would've loved this just as much too btw. #fuckcourtneylove

@kiteracer2497

Stipe probably saved thoms life. Thom couldn't handle the life. Thank God.

@Gia Sieboldofski Courtney Love has nothing to do with this, Kurt Cobain shot himself in the face and it is painfully obvious.
