The lyrics to R.E.N.O.I.S.E.'s song Strange World speak about the confusion and fear that exist in our world. The first verse asks the question whether this is our last chance to speak our minds and live our lives to the fullest. The next line speaks of how we hide inside of ourselves, afraid to express ourselves for what we really are. The following line talks about the need to believe in what we are told in a world of great confusion, where giving up control is easy.
The second verse talks about how anything that we perceive as "strange" is in fact a reflection of our own fears and ignorance. This world, the lyrics say, is one that we have wasted but it has also kept us very well. When science becomes the new religion, who will save us from ourselves? The chorus, repeated twice, speaks of this strange world where people talk and tell only lies while killing others with an eye for an eye. The hope that things will get better is discussed in the last line of the chorus when the dream is of seeing the light that will make everything alright. The song ends with a plea to burn away the thoughtless tears from our eyes, and to wonder why this strange world exists.
