Let me go
R.O.W.L.E.Y. Lyrics

Hear that whistle, it's ten o'clock.
Don't let go, Don't let go.
Come on, baby, it's time to rock,
Don't let go, Don't let go.
I'm so happy I got you here,
Don't let go, Don't let go.
Keeps me grinnin' from ear to ear.
Don't let go, Don't let go.
Oo-wee, This feelin's killin' me;
Ah shucks, I wouldn't stop for a million bucks.
I love you so, Just hold me tight.
Don't let go!

Thunder, lightening, wind and rain,
Don't let go, Don't let go.
Love is stormin' inside my brain,
Don't let go, Don't let go.
I'm so eager, I'm nearly dyin',
Don't let go, Don't let go.
You've been keepin' your lips from mine.
Oo-wee, This feelin's killin' me;
Ah shucks, I wouldn't stop for a million bucks.
I love you so, Just hold me tight.
Don't let go!

Hound dog barkin' up side the hill,
Don't let go, Don't let go.
Love is draggin' him thru the mill,
Don't let go, Don't let go.
If it wasn't for havin' you,
Don't let go, Don't let go.
I'd be barkin' and howlin' too.
Oo-wee, This feelin's killin' me;
Ah shucks, I wouldn't stop for a million bucks.
I love you so, Just hold me tight.
Don't let go!

One day, baby, you'll quit me yet,
Don't let go, Don't let go.
I'll be cryin' and soakin' wet,
Don't let go, Don't let go.
One thing, baby, I'll never stand,
Don't let go, Don't let go.
Your lips kissin' some other man.
Oo-wee, This feelin's killin' me;
Ah shucks, I wouldn't stop for a million bucks.
I love you so, Just hold me tight.

Don't let go!
Just hold me tight, Don't let go!

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to R.O.W.L.E.Y.’s song “Let Me Go” are about a man who is deeply in love with his partner and wants her to never let him go. The upbeat rockabilly tune starts with the sounds of a train whistle, setting the scene for an energetic and exciting night. The singer urges his partner to hold onto him tightly, as he can’t bear the thought of being without her. He’s so happy that she’s there with him – it keeps him grinning from ear to ear. The feeling is so intense that he wouldn’t stop for a million bucks.

The song takes an interesting turn when the singer likens his love for his partner to a thunderstorm. He describes love as “stormin’ inside [his] brain,” which is a vivid way to convey just how overwhelming this feeling is for him. He’s eager to embrace her, but she’s been keeping her lips from his. With the addition of a metaphorical hound dog barking up the hill, it’s clear that the singer is feeling desperate for his partner’s affections.

At the end of the song, the singer acknowledges that one day his partner may leave him. He knows that if that happens, he’ll be heartbroken and soaking wet from tears. He can’t stand the thought of her kissing another man, so he begs her once more to never let him go. Overall, “Let Me Go” is a passionate plea from a man who loves his partner with all of his heart and doesn’t want to imagine a future without her.

This is why I LOVE THE LIVE ACTION MOVIES (not long haul) Greg grows as a person in the movies EXAMPLES

Wimpy Kid 1: he is being a terrible person, being mean to rowley but he ends up apologizing and making him and rowley Friends again, and they get Cutest Friends in the yearbook

Wimpy Kid 2: Rodrick Rules: rodrick is being a jerk to Greg for no reason at all but Greg also hates rodrick and with the mom bucks and even with Greg ratting out rodrick for what they did about the new door Greg makes it up to him and they BOTH grow as brothers

Wimpy Kid 3: DOG DAYS: Greg does nothing but play video games blah blah blah Greg doesn’t want to hang out with his dad but they go on a camping trip Greg over hears the leader talking bad about his dad and Greg makes a plan to humiliate the leader and it works and Greg and his dad get pizza and they have a good time

Greg becomes a better friend and a better brother and a better son but in the long haul NOTHING and in the books NOTHING

Blabber

@Sean Furlong Even if his parents don't abuse him:

Frank has a tendency to jump to conclusions and usually not listen to Greg.

Susan, being a Karen, never really listens to Greg and usually sides with Manny to the point where she favors him.

As for his brothers:

Manny is the annoying tattletale who frames Greg for his troubles and throws fits ESPECIALLY on the smallest things.

Rodrick...yeah not gunna talk about him much.

The older I get, the more I realize how sociopathic Greg really is.

Diary of the wimpy 3 Greg was the best and actually tried to do the right thing

Jinkies

@GooseyGander he gets more sociopathic in the books as they go on. In the movies he starts off as a narcissist but improves and grows as a person. In the books he is forced to stay the same due to them keeping the status quo and gets worse as the plots of the books grow bigger.
