Early compositions include works for theater and dance productions. Randy played electric bass with several Michigan rock bands in the early 1980s, most notably, Third Coast. The 1980s saw the release of two albums of electronic music, including some serial 12 tone compositions. During the 1990s, Randy dedicated himself to the study of microtonal tunings and released three albums of microtonal improvisations and compositions in all equal tempered tunings from 7 through 22 steps per octave, and several pieces in the exotic Bohlen-Pierce tuning. Randy is an avid trombonist and frequently performs with the Metal and Glass Ensemble, a Boston area group that performs microtonal drone music on unique bowed metal and JI tuned glasses.

Living in the (allmost) guns free country of Denmark, I Really envy you guys across the atlantic. I have been a fan of all kinds of firearms for as long as I can remeber. And to see these things of beauty just makes me want to feel it and try it. But living where I do, this will prob. never happen :( But I guess I can allways look at your channel. Thank you so much for this outstanding video. I teach AP U.S. history and my students always ask about the weapons. Right now we are in the Spanish-American and the Filipino War where there were in fact quite a few Winchester lever guns. Many of the volunteers, of course, bought their own. Thanks again. @한민이Just a leeeetle bit before my time, but's it's my understanding the U.S. did indeed use Krags and Springfields during the Spanish American war. It was there they discovered the Mauser rifle that the Spanish were using was a bit more desirable and the 1903 Springfield was born.

Hickok, great videos. I am a new subscriber but have watched many of your videos over the past few years. It was actually your videos that led me to get my Glock 20 as my first hand gun. I really enjoyed this video. I have wanted a Henry for a while but now would also like an 1886. Hey Hickok, not sure if you'll see this.... I'm not a gun person whatsoever, but I've always been a huge history buff and fascinated in learning about the evolution of weapons technology, particularly during the World Wars and Korean War era. I think your channel is great and has a lot of crossover appeal for people like me who are by no means gun fanatics. I've watched videos from other channels and some are so obnoxious—loud country music, flashy graphics, NRA hats, prepper-style attire... It seems like some people try so hard to fit that image that it's not about what they're reviewing or about the firearm. Anyways, keep up the great work. I agree. I prefer Hickok's channel over any other shooting/firearms channel, because he just seems like a normal guy who likes to shoot guns just like me. he doesn't politicize his channel, or try to fit the stereotype of what a gun owner is "supposed" to be. it's just about shooting, learning interesting history(I'm a huge history buff myself, especially military history. any conflicts from Hastings to Fallujah greatly fascinate me), and, above all, having fun, which is what life should be about

Excellent video. All of the Winchesters are nice rifles, but the 1895 is my favorite.
I picked up one of the modern 1895 Winchesters chambered in .270 several years ago. Slick, accurate and beautiful.

Hickok, thank you again for such a wonderful display and even a bit of education. Always loved lever guns ever since my dad let me shoot his 22lr, not sure of the make. That table would be a dream come true. I finally got a hold of an early 50's model 94 and a model 9422M about 6 years ago. $200 a piece and in good condition. Temporarily scratched the itch but now it's back. That 22 mag is a fun plinker.

I enjoyed both your 94 videos I bought a 51 model from the original owner when I was 13 for $60. he had put a simple sling on it and carve old deer underneath the four otherwise it's set up just like yours, shot my first ten deer with it also I learned to reload reloading 30.30 cartridges and I put countless rounds thru that rifle. I could consistently hit a paper plate at 250 and do a 6-inch pattern at 200 routinely. I won a lot of bets against my scope rifled brethren, two years ago my son wanted 30-30 so I bought one of the last New York made Marlin 336xlr's when I gave it to him he looked disappointed so I want back to the gun safe we got out my pre 64 and I gave that to him now I have the last Marlin 336xlr made by Marlin that was in Cabela's inventory. I haven't shot it yet, it is a nice rifle though. Nice video !

Anyways, does anyone else notice at 27:30 the delayed detonation on that round? Good example of why you just leave the rifle pointed downrange and wait for a few seconds if it doesn't fire right away.

Awesome guns I love lever action rifles I have a browning BLR 81 with detachable magazine in .243 calibre as my main hunting and vermin control (ie foxes) rifle wouldn't change it for the world accurate light and smooth love it. Excellent videos keep up the good work. Cheers from Scotland

I know this is an old video, but the 1892, 1894 and 1895 all were deployed in World War One. The 1892 by the Brits at sea, the 1894 by the French for messengers, etc, and the 1895 by Russia. Not in huge numbers, mostly as a carbine for use in vehicles (World War One truck gun).

Great video as always my friend. Incredible collection of history on that table. I loved all of the history you added to this review. I don't know how many times I have fallen asleep while watching westerns on the tv. Single actions pistols and lever rifles hold such a charm. many benefits to modern weapons but they do not have the "soul" of these old classic productions. Imagine how many of these are hiding away in closets, old safes, basements, etc. The owners may have passed away and now the family that has possession has no idea what they have or its sentimental, monetary or historical value.

I have a Winchester 38-55 handed down from my grandpa. Unfortunately the barrel has been shortened for some reason but does not appear to have the magazine shortened, yet still a very nice gun. I also own a newer 32 Win Spl. Great summary of Winchester lever guns, thanks.

I'm surprised you never mention they had a rifle version of the Volcanic pistol as well, the Volition Repeating Rifle by Volcanic Repeating Arms in 1848. It, along with the pistol, were the precursors to the Henry/Winchester. I think the rifle version even came first and the pistol was based off of it, so really the rifle is the original Volcanic (Volition) repeater.

Those Uberti levers represent the best of lever rifles ever made, old or new. I need more variations as I only have the 1866 Yellowboy in 45LC, thus far. I think the next logical purchase will be the 1873.

45LC is among my favorite overall caliber. I recently acquired a new Smith & Wesson Model 25 Classic chambered in .45LC. And as this line name suggests, it is indeed a "Classic"!

Been into firearms for just about 3 years and I like them all.
Just “discovered” lever action rifles about 5 months ago... a Henry basic in .22 lr got me started ... now I’m on a Marlin 1895GS (in 45-70 obviously).
That is the nicest table I’ve ever seen.... I have some many mixed feelings. Envy, Joy, hope, love but mainly a renewed purpose to learn and get to handle every thing on that table. Thanks you!!!!!

My friend want to buy one, a reproduced one. I really missed that you didn't have a decibel counter so you could see the sound differences on the 357 Magnum and the 45 Colt (I jumped in the video between them) and how far those bullets can shoot their targets with full accurate. The 44-40 is also available, would be interested to compare their stats somehow.

The 1895 is one of my favorite rifles of all time. I would love to get a 762x54r modded to take stripper clips. To me that's the ultimate lever action long range rifle. too bad they are harder than hell to find and way expensive. it would be cool to get the 30-06 and modify it to take springfield 1903 strippers. just spit ballin here.

I absolutely adore my 1894 Winchester. It is a post 1964 gun but I got it cheap so I can't complain. Mine is a 1975 built gun.

hickok45 if you need a channel that will air whatever guns you prefer to test you should try to find a contract with the Sportsman's channel. might be a little expensive and competitive though. however, it would be a great way to get on the air in TV and be able to shoot any firearm you'd like to test try and theirs limited advertisement interruption. once again, it'd all be your choice and the channel's requirement, but I'm just thinking, it'd be a perfect channel to make a good TV show based on this YouTube channel.

+hickok45 I was just saying in a way you do have your own show.

However I think if you were to pitch your first videos for the first year and mention how many you have over the last 5 or so years, the network could air those in order and advertise your channel in the process. Imagine the endorsements/money you would get from a network, as far as guns and advertising from different gun manufacturers.

You could negotiate retaining the "Creative Rights" or final say on how your videos are portrayed. I think it would help being able to get the word out on gun rights to a broader audience to help ones against them, or in the middle on gun uses/rights. Just by showing a different view of why we like our guns for sporting, hunting or for a hobby/collecting/investments etc.
Either way I'll will continue to watch.

I just picked up a 1966 centennial model Winchester at a great price. As accurate or more than many of my modern guns. I couldn't be happier with it.

nice video, i bought a levergun with little knowledge of it other than a 30-30, but when i learn what it was made me love it a lot than before, Winchester model 94. funny someone pointed that out as i was born on the 94 year.
