Five
R. Winchester Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

All week long I dreamed about our Saturday date
Don't you know that Sunday morning you can sleep late

Give me five minutes more, only five minutes more
Let me stay, let me stay in your arms

Here am I, begging for only five minutes more
Only five minutes more of your charms

All week long I dreamed about our Saturday date
Don't you know that Sunday morning you can sleep late

Give me five minutes more, only five minutes more
Let me stay, let me stay in your arms

Overall Meaning

In R. Winchester's song Five, the singer expresses his deep yearning for more time with his lover. He dreams about their Saturday date all week long and asks for just five more minutes in her arms. He makes a subtle reference to the fact that Sunday is a day of rest, implying that they have all the time in the world to spend together without any interruptions. Although he begs for just a few more minutes, the intensity of his desire is palpable in the repetition of the phrase "only five minutes more" and "let me stay, let me stay in your arms."

The song is a classic example of a timeless love ballad that can be interpreted in many different ways. One possible interpretation is that the singer is deeply in love and wants nothing more than to be close to his lover. The song captures the essence of a moment - a moment that the singer wants to hold onto forever. The song is both romantic and melancholic, conveying a sense of longing that many listeners can relate to.

Overall, the lyrics of Five are simple yet poetic, capturing the essence of a moment that many people can identify with. The themes of love, longing, and time are woven together in a way that is both emotional and evocative.

Living in the (allmost) guns free country of Denmark, I Really envy you guys across the atlantic. I have been a fan of all kinds of firearms for as long as I can remeber. And to see these things of beauty just makes me want to feel it and try it. But living where I do, this will prob. never happen :(   But I guess I can allways look at your channel. It's inspiring to watch, when you (like me) are interested in everything from safety, over the mechanisms, all the way to the designs :)   Anyway..
