You may feel unstoppable in one moment, like in April,

I have the determination to prove any doubters wrong,

When I'm right back on top in June.
And I'll be back on my feet in no time, even stronger than before, like in June.

That's life, funny as it seems.
Life can be ironic and unexpected, even if it seems humorous.

Some people get their kicks,
Some people take pleasure in the misfortunes of others or stepping on others' dreams.

Steppin' on dreams
They stomp on the hopes and aspirations of others.

But I just can't let it get me down,
I refuse to let their negativity bring me down,

Cause this big old world keeps spinnin' around.
Because life goes on, and I must keep moving forward.

I've been a puppet, a pauper, a pirate,
I've played many different roles in my life, from powerless to criminal,

A poet, a pawn and a king.
From artist to a mere pawn and even to the highest positions of power.

I've been up and down and over and out
I've experienced the highs and lows, and even reached rock bottom,

But I know one thing:

Each time I find myself flat on my face,

I pick myself up and get back in the race.
I never give up, and I always try again.

That's life, I can't deny it,
This is just the reality of life that I cannot ignore.

I thought of quitting,
I may have considered giving up,

But my heart just won't buy it.
However, my strong will and determination will not let me give up.

Cause if I didn't think it was worth a try,
Because if I truly believed it was not worth my effort,

I'd have to roll myself up in a big ball and die.
I might as well give up completely and not try at all.
