The Fall
R I T U A L Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Full crends, in you
Give who, we said
With words, broken parts
What's a heart, in words
In sync, get the words
My fall, watch your step
It hurts, it stops
What's a heart, in words
In words, in words,
In words

I felt it all and I feel it all
She left with the change in the leaves
Through the fall, through it all
Never cry it's just taken from me
I felt it all and I feel it all
She left with the change in the leaves
Through the fall, through it all
Never cry it's just taken from me

Too quick, so hold your tongue
Be careful, don't say too much
When words, mean broken parts
What's a heart, with words
In words, in words,
In words

I felt it all and I feel it all
She left with the change in the leaves
Through the fall, through it all
Never cry it's just taken from me
I felt it all and I feel it all
She left with the change in the leaves
Through the fall, through it all
Never cry it's just taken from me

Take the most, of the branches that we shared
The season's gone, like the dreams and the feelings we shared

I felt it all and I feel it all
She left with the change in the leaves
Through the fall, through it all
Never cry it's just taken from me
I felt it all and I feel it all
She left with the change in the leaves

Through the fall, through it all
Never cry it's just taken from me

Overall Meaning

The R I T U A L song "The fall" is a contemplative and introspective ballad about the impermanence of love and deep emotional connections. The opening lines suggest that the singer, perhaps in a relationship or a close friendship, has invested their trust in someone and is now vulnerable to being hurt. The lines "Full crends, in you, Give who, we said, With words, broken parts, What's a heart, in words" convey the idea that though the singer has put their full trust in the other person, communication may sometimes fail them or lead to misunderstandings. The phrase "what's a heart, in words?" hints at the impossibility of encapsulating complex emotions in simple language or in fleeting verbal exchanges.

The chorus, repeated twice, affirms that the singer has experienced a significant emotional loss. The line "She left with the change in the leaves" symbolically represents the ephemeral and fleeting nature of human connections. Just like the natural cycles of seasons, some relationships may come and go, leaving an indelible mark on the person who has experienced them. However, the singer seems to suggest that crying or mourning over the loss might not be the best course of action. The line "Never cry it's just taken from me" is a stoic acceptance of the loss and the understanding that holding onto emotions may prolong the healing process.

The second verse continues the reflective tone of the song and hints that the loss was unexpected and sudden. The phrase "Too quick, so hold your tongue, Be careful, don't say too much" could suggest that the singer was not fully prepared for the eventual fallout of the relationship. The stanza ends with a revisiting of the "What's a heart, with words?" question, again hinting at the limitations of verbal communication.

Overall, "The Fall" is a sobering and poignant ode to the transitory nature of love and emotions. It encourages listeners to accept emotional losses as part of the natural order of life and to focus on cherishing the moments that were shared.

Before actually reading the lyrics I heard totally different stuff. I heard bless her heart where it says what's a heart and gave your word where it says really worth

I believe that everyone hears what they need to hear when they listen to any song, hence the buety and Magic of SONG ❤️‍🩹

People need to hear the correct lyrics, but from there you can draw your own conclusions. Interpretation isn't putting out incorrect lyrics on purpose like Spotify does. That is rude and totally dismissive of all the artist puts into writing a song. If I had a music app, I would go broke putting out the correct lyrics, rather than be a poser, "We're all about the music"...

Really great 🪘 I love this song better than Josephine.I know I said that I love this tune better than the Josephine tune but I just listened to Josephine once again and again. I think that I love them both equally because they both have some very cold 🪘in sound. 🎶🥰❤️🎧
