Just Breathe
Rachel Fuller featuring Pete Townshend Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Nothing's okay
It's harder each day just to chase your fears away
It feels like a dream
The panic will pass
These things never last
We'll get a new cast and rewrite every part
And when I believe
That we should just breathe
And then I believe
That we will just be
Just breathe
We're alive and we're free
We can touch and feel
And so I believe
That we should just breathe
Just breathe
And let yourself feel
Divided you stand
United you stall
That's how it works but it makes no sense at all
Whenever you fall
Take every cliche
That sad people say
The books on your shelf that teach you how to live your day
And throw them away
And when I believe
That we should just breathe
And then I believe
That we will just be
Just breathe
We're alive and we're free
We can touch and feel
And so I believe
That we should just breathe
And if it feels that you are tumbling down
Just hold on
There is a chance
If you can believe
All will be well if you breathe
I hear you say
Nothing's okay
It's harder each day just to chase your fears away
It feels like a dream
The panic will pass
These things never last
We'll get a new cast and rewrite every part
And every scene
And when I believe
That we should just breathe
And then I believe
That we will just be
Just breathe
We're alive and we're free
We can touch and feel
And so I believe
That we should just breathe
Just breathe
And let yourself feel
The lyrics of "Just Breathe" by Rachel Fuller featuring Pete Townshend speak to the general struggle of dealing with anxiety, fear, and panic in everyday life. The singer acknowledges the difficulty of facing these fears on a daily basis and urges the listener to remember that "panic will pass" and "we'll get a new cast and rewrite every part." The song encourages the listener to throw away clichés and preconceived notions of how to live their life and just breathe, touch, and feel. The message is one of hope and perseverance, and the idea that no matter how difficult things may become, we have the strength to overcome and live in a state of freedom and life.
Overall, the song is a reminder to live in the present moment and not get bogged down in the past or in worry about the future. It encourages the listener to embrace their feelings and emotions and to feel free to let go of the stress and anxiety that can come with daily life.

Looking at the absolute joy on Pete's face every time he looks at Rachel, the line from "When Harry Met Sally" - with a twist - comes to mind: "I'll have what he's having!" To find one's soulmate (sorry for the drippy term, but it fits) is truly the greatest gift! Gorgeous singing by Rachel here, and Pete's playing - as always - is innovative and shows his incredibly deft touch for melodic acoustic guitar playing.

Sounds stellar! I'm very very excited about this livestream as I was a fan of in the attic. It helps heal the heart to hear music we all can relate to, especially now. I myself write that way. Thank you for the all music.!
