As a Filipino, itβs funny and silly to realize that most foreigners in the comment section took her question seriously and misunderstood whatβs happening in this video. It just goes to show how naive some people can be about Filipino culture lol π In the Philippines, we have this thing called hugot which is what theyβre both doing in this video. The guy initiated the hugot (flirty&fun teasing) which obviously caught her off guard but she was quick to return the hugot when she said can I go with you? (Context: He said can I give you a ticket so she jokingly responded with βYes, Can I go with you?β)
We usually do hugot (flirty/romantic/sometimes cringe-worthy catchphrases) for fun. Yβall are misunderstanding her for something else when sheβs obviously just having fun and enjoying life lmao You can tell that sheβs friendly and competitive π Also, When we do hugot like this, it doesnβt necessarily mean that we are interested with the person. Itβs one of our pastimes to have fun (it makes the other person cringe or feel silly but in a good way so youβre guaranteed to laugh/smile)
I canβt count the number of times I was misunderstood by foreign people for this harmless fun lmao

Well said! There are so many people in the comments who must have a really sad life...and so many weirdos. That's one reason why I love the Philippines...HUGOT β€οΈπ I didn't know that expression btw
@anthonysmith1228
@Wild CARLOS appeared!Β It wouldn't make them weird or sad if they misinterpreted it. Just as the commenter pointed out, it's simply due to cultural differences. Though I think the majority of people around the world understand flirting, I could be wrong.
@WildCARLOSappeared
@@anthonysmith1228 That's true what you said. There are cultural differences that lead to misinterpretations. On the other hand people who are swearing, being aggressive and offensive,
... I call them weird. Have a further look at the comment section if you dare π
@anthonysmith1228
@Wild CARLOS appeared!Β That's fair π€

@Wild CARLOS appeared!Β those comments are just from people who can't think outside of their own framework or context and only see other cultures as better or worse than their own, not just different.
